I'm on Villere in Old Mandeville. Just for shits and giggles, I just checked Cleco's outage map. They say that my area and many others on my side of Old Mandeville (between Monroe and 190) will have power by 10:30 today. I still see trees on lines nearby, so I'm not holding my breath for that. It would be nice, considering I was expecting Friday at the earliest!

Heard there’s juice flowing on Old Spanish Trail and Howze Beach rd as of last night. Utility-Baws are getting shite done. Crack open a cold one for them!

Just checked the Cleco map again and don’t see anything posted saying that.

That seems optimistic, but I definitely don't see it taking a week+ for most areas. The cleco outage map is showing today for a lot of places around 190

Yesterday afternoon the target lot in Covington/ Madisonville was filled with equipment. Minimum of 300 pieces. Equipment of all descriptions, power trucks to bull dozers. It was an amazing site. Lot filled from target all the way to the movie theaters. Probably a 1/2 mile stretch.

They've been there for a few days now. Wish they would receive orders on where to go...

I'm trying to square this with the level of destruction. Something is not adding up.

The travel in in big groups from all over, most stopping overnight. Doubt most would be going all thee back for the weekend :dunno;

Hope is a funny thing. You want to have it but don’t want to be let down either.

There were maybe 20 trucks, tree and utility, up 1088 and 59 yesterday afternoon. A Cleco guy that lives in our neighborhood off of 1088 said it’s a possibility we could have power today. A lot of the trucks got allocated to hospital/police grids yesterday.

Wouldn’t be surprising. They are planning to turn on the transmission lines later today. That should bring up at minimum 75% of Cleco and WSTE in Covington and Mandeville. They will then target the sporadic outages.

Anyone else here off 59 that's heard anything about potential to get power restored? Have family that is debating driving up to Nashville (they live in New Orleans) but will go stay on the Northshore if they get power back soon.

ETA: I'm sure that area has been discussed but I'm not familiar enough with the area to know. They live in Hunter's Glen

Check again. Almost the entire street (Villere) says 10:08 or 10:20. We'll see, though. I'm at the Pyre/Book and Bean food truck at the trailhead at the moment, neighbor!

Many will have power back by tonight unless they run into any unforeseen issues when powering back the transmission lines. 75% should have power back by the weekend. This is second hand info from a board member at WSTE.

Edited to 75% from 90%
