That is adorable that she thinks she can sign a "waiver" and shazaam release the city from liability. Small town politicians in LA are truly a breed of their own.

Bet you have min limit auto insurance also.

If she's being given $800/month in taxable wages, disguised as a car allowance under a non-accountable plan, I'm not sure the city has any right to tell her what level of insurance she needs to have on it.

This is why most government agencies no longer do car allowances or mileage - they just give you the car to drive.

St. Martinville is a very poor city.

I disagree. Ignorance is a result of not being educated or exposed to a subject. Stupidity is being educated and exposed to it and still pretending not to know.
