what video? I thought he immediately left the scene...has it come out that it is indeed him in the video?

Yeah, its prob within the first few minutes... The body isn't even covered yet. He's chatting with another officer, looks distraught, and then slowly walks away with his head down.

But past actions are not indicative of how he would react

He didn't say particularly. But he did say that if the police officer had ever run him before for any reason, you would've certainly remembered what his record was.

This has been discussed. If the officer had a history of excessive force it would be shouted from the roof tops. MB has a violent history (rumored) and it cant be used against him ( court of public opinion maybe but then you're a racist boot licker)

I'll say that is fair.

But if I say our nation's history of its unfair treatment of black men under the law, education, healthcare, finance, etc should be indicative of how they may be treated, would that be fair?

If we can use that info against Michael brown, then IMO, people have every right to be weary of law enforcement here because of their history of injustices and harassments of black males.

If we are going to use "past histories" then past histories have to applied to everyone involved.

But then you're talking about collective guilt based on Association of systems, and that simply not a defensible position in the court. It made explain sociologically histories and feelings, but it has no legal merit l. You probably know that.

I've got work associates who are black and DWB definitely happens all the time. So I can believe other forms of harassment happen too.

That said, most of these Gentle Giants the police kill seem to have a criminal past, don't they?

It's counterproductive for either side to deny the obvious realities that we know were present. Driving while black happens. Young black males attacking police happens. We have to focus on what's truth and how is Justice achieved in each individual situation. And truly push for color blind justice.

Not possible that he was remorseful about killing the kid. He must have been upset about his aim and the number of shots it took.

eta: First post on p. 777.

Must be a good sign.

I don't know if it's him. It's been held out as him. Some time after the incident.

I'm not talking about it in a court of law, I'm talking about it in the court of public opinion.

Within the first few hours is fair. I don't know that the body was covered within minutes. Don't know either way. Also, if I can't tell if he has an injury to the face, I certainly can't tell if he's distraught. Could very well be distraught. Sure he was. I just can't tell that either from the video.
