Yes there is, this was a strong arm robbery, not shoplifting, and the fact that he showed force is very different than simply taking something. It shows a propensity for being forceful and violent, which will come into play whether or not he assaulted the officer
Exactly. The spin some people in here are trying to make is absolutely sickening. That is like saying manslaughter and 1st degree, what difference is there?

Show up at peaceful protest with army gear and then expect the people to be calm. I don't know what the chief was thinking

If you want to distinguish between a violent robbery and a robbery, that is a legitimate distinction to make. There is no real distinction between simple robbery and shoplifting.

claiming Michael Brown was a sweet little innocent baby boy, straight A student, about to graduate and go to college.

I don't know what the parents of little baby Brown were thinking.

its not shitty communication. There is no law saying the police had to release the info in a certain amount of time. The police waited until they thought it was right to release it. The people just need to get over it.

In this case there is. This proves he has a tendency to be violent. This will come into play when figuring out if he assaulted the officer.

From the surveillance photo, it looks like he was robbing the store during daylight. (It also doesn't look like he's robbing the store from the photos. He looks to be standing in an intimidating manner with his hat cocked to the side.)

Nothing has changed from the first few hours of the incident. If they had all this information on Saturday (and they did), their CYA move cost lots of people lots of money. It's indefensible.

He took cigars and when the clerk approached him, he shoved him into the counter and grabbed some more and then ran out.

That is a robbery
