Was it made from wood something? No way they demolished stone structures like that, right?
Have you seen the pics of what was put up along Magazine Street in what is now Audubon Park in NO for the Cotton Exposition? Same deal. Looking at the pics it is hard to believe such a structure was there.

WARNING: long post full of crackpot stuff ahead! Here’s what he’s getting at: there’s a series of theories called “Phantom Time Theory”. The basic premise is that the number of years between the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the beginning of the Renaissance is not nearly as numerous as recorded history suggests. Estimates of just how many years were “inserted” range from 270 years to nearly 1000. The basic premise is that either early Renaissance or late Medieval rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, who controlled those early European Universities, wanted to put distance between themselves and the original Roman Empire to make their dynasties seem like they had been in control far longer than reality, and that Christianity had been in control far longer. These theorists believe the pagan themes in the Renaissance art works weren’t simply homages to the classical period, but paintings by contemporary practitioners of the Roman pagan religions that the Church was trying to stamp out. The way they did this was to fabricate dynasties by taking the same stories, repeating them, and simply changing the names. The idea would be that the Anglo-Saxon conquest of England, the early Viking sagas, and the Norman conquest were the exact same event, just with the names changed. That way, an entire Ango-Saxon dynasty of rulers could be invented to make it look like the Roman Empire in britain had died off long ago. Odoacer (who sacked Rome, ending the Roman Empire) and m could potentially be the same person. The Vandal conquest of North Africa and the Islamic conquests were the same event. Basically, once one accepts the premise that you cannot trust recorded history, the chronology of EVERYTHING comes into question. The evidence cited by Phantom Time Theorists are the lack of archaeological evidence for the Dark ages in europe, a nearly 300 year gap in building construction In Constantinople (now Istanbul), discovery of Romanesque architecture in Western Europe constructed centuries after the Western Empire supposedly fell, a discrepancy in the number of leap years, and the complete lack of original copies of historical documents from before 1300, all of which come from Universities run by the same order of monks. The idea is that who ever wanted to change history had opportunity, motive, and there exists no older primary sources. Now, where does this whole craziness come into play with these worlds fair buildings all over America? So, what if the history the Church was trying to erase wasn’t just Greco-Roman Paganism? Ever wondered why no matter where you go in the world, you always see these huge beautiful buildings of similar architecture? Nearly all are attributed to the late 19th century or the colonial period. However, buildings like those seemingly cannot be duplicated today. Why is that? The crackpot theory is that this architecture is “Imperial Architecture”, of which the Roman Empire was a part or a vassal. This massive Empire once spanned the entire world (including the United States) but was destroyed by the banking elite and the Catholic Church through a series of wars that also served to destroy historical documents and erase collective cultural memories of this Empire. The idea is that ancient Roman architecture, Medieval Romanesque Architecture, Renaissance Classic Architecture, colonial neo classic architecture are all actually the same thing. Those plantations in the South weren’t homages to the Greeks, they were Roman palaces that were “found” by American colonists and refurbished. In fact, all of this architecture was not built in the 18th/19th centuries. They were pre-existing buildings that were simply renovated. America was once “Roman” as well, and the World’s Fair was used as a cover to destroy these ancient buildings to destroy the memory of America’s Roman past to replace it with the colonial narrative that the previous occupants were all “noble savages”. Chicago, New York, St. Louis, etc were once “Roman” cities, and are far older than history says. The World’s Fair combined with the Napoleonic Wars, American Civil War, Crimean War, Franco-Prussian War, and World Wars were used to systematically destroy all of the old records and much of the old imperial architecture so that the cultural memories of this old civilization would disappear. Now, what happened to that civilization? Mud Flood. The Imperial Architecture was not just “found”, it was buried and had to be dug up because they were buried in sediment by the Great Flood. The worldwide Empire was essentially the Atlantean civilization, and that flood occurred sometime in the early 18th century. The wars were used to destroy the cultural memory of these events and provide a “restart” for civilization to explain why who was now in charge. The reason for the massive scale of these buildings is that the Empire wasn’t human, but giants. They were the offspring of angels and humans from the bible. Those structures are massive because the original builders were 10ft tall. As you can see, the farther down into r/CulturalLayer you go, the more absurd the theories become.

If you think that's nuts, there's a conspiracy theory out there that Napoleon built the Great Pyramids of Egypt in the early 1800's

The fair was a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase and the Louisiana Building was an exact replica of the Cabildo as it existed in 1803. The original Cabildo doors and roof were used to construct the Louisiana Building and it was filled with things unique to Louisiana including art, crafts, and agricultural goods.
After the fair ended, the Louisiana Building was sold and used, along with a few other fair buildings, to construct a mansion in Missouri.
The State of Louisiana decided to keep the art collection together. Thus began the Louisiana State Museum, which is housed today in the original Cabildo.

Thanks for the massive assumption.
The keyword that goes into this concept I'm going to be getting at wasn't used in your very long post -- which means you're not exactly onto me like you think you are.
Of all the pics that have been shared, I think one or two can be traced back to that subreddit you mentioned -- which happened to be used because I google-imaged the name of the buildings I wanted to post and that was the location of the images.
Essentially you made up what you think I think based on the backtrace location of maybe 3 of like 35 images that I've shown so far.

Are you going more in a "lost Tartary" direction, then?
Mud Flood?
Mud Fossils?
Atlantis?

Those claims relate to a widespread belief in the early 19th century that the Mississippi River had, at one time, been settled by the Ancient Egyptians. It was known as "The American Nile". That is why they named several new cities built along the Mississippi after Egyptian cities, including Cairo, IL and Memphis, TN (there are a lot more). This movement was supported by a series of archaeological discoveries (later debunked as forgeries or lost) of statues, tombs, tablets, etc containing Egyptian hieroglyphs and iconography, which were discussed widely in local and national newspapers at the time. None of these artifacts still exist.
Since many black liberation theologians believe the Ancient Egyptians to have been black (in their defense, there was at least one dynasty of "Nubian Kings" who definitely were black-skinned), it matches up.
The archaeological community is finally accepting that the ancient Egyptians did make it as far as Australia after discovering boomerangs and depictions of Aborigines in Egyptian tombs, listening to Aboriginal elders who detail an account of contact with Egypt in the ancient past, and discoveries of monolithic hieroglyphics in the Australian Outback. If they could make it Australia, who's to say they couldn't make it to America?

They were essentially huge Hollywood backlot sets

They were built with a material called "staff," a mixture of plaster of Paris and hemp fibers, on a wood frame. And as they did at the Chicago world's fair, buildings and statues deteriorated during the months of the Fair
Several of the more permanent structures were moved to other locations

A Jain temple carved out of teak stood within the Indian Pavilion near the Ferris Wheel. It was dismantled after the exhibition and was reconstructed in Las Vegas at the Castaways hotel.

Birmingham, Alabama's iconic cast iron Vulcan statue was first exhibited at the Fair in the Palace of Mines and Metallurgy

The State of Maine Building, which was a rustic cabin, was transported to Point Lookout, Missouri where it became the main building at the College of the Ozarks.

Godzilla represents the lizard people, Mothra, the grays. They are competing multi-level marketing salespeople peddling Rodan & Fields. If you follow the pyramid, it all goes up to the top!!!

You want something specific to pop out of the hole so you can swiftly smash it down - like whack-a-mole.
There's not exactly something specific I think.
It's an overall topic I find intriguing -- the concept that history hasn't been exact in its retelling, which I think is a pretty darn reasonable notion.
For me, this has brought way more questions and more to learn and see than some specific theory that can be summed up in one message.
This involves real/reputable/authentic maps. It involves real history that's officially recognized. It involves real academic anthropology and archeology.
Hang out in these threads and take part in the journey, or don't.

So your overall message is that you don't know what to believe, but you want to bring to attention historical narratives that seemingly don't make a lot of sense so that people can question the official narrative and the ways in which they decide what constitutes objective truth? If so, that is a message I can get behind. However, there is no reason to hide behind some sort of wall of "you have to be at least this initiated to even comprehend what I'm saying". That's just being elitist and snobby. Questioning historical chronology, especially in the eras prior to mass media, television, and the internet, makes for excellent late night OT threads.
Considering that topic of "how do we know what to believe?", I'd like to follow up with this question: if you weren't there, no one who was there is still alive, and there are no photographs, how do you know it definitely happened? The farther back in history you go, the fewer reputable sources there are. Once you go back before the Romans (who kept meticulous records), it all starts to look like Farie Tales and mythology. However, often, the "myths" match the archaeology with discoveries like the ancient cities of Troy, Sodom, Ur, etc.
If one wanted to erase the memories of a people of a country and replace them with a new memory, how would they do that? How long would it take? What kinds of mechanisms of control would you need? In many of these "forgotten history" theories, the time when the history was changed was at a time when 99% of people were illiterate and all education was controlled by a small group. How small a group do you need to keep a conspiracy a secret yet still be successful?
These are interesting questions, but without overwhelming hard evidence to back them up, I cannot have much faith in them. I still find them interesting to think about and discuss, though.
