Was it made from wood something? No way they demolished stone structures like that, right?

That white stone was deemed to be racist.

It was a Potemkin village. Made out of kindling. Of course it was torn down.

Official story is these worlds fairs across the globe were mostly built from light materials intending to be temporary.
Although mixed in these buildings we know there were grand scale real stone buildings -- as some of them still stand.

I'm not completely buying the narrative that all of these buildings all around the world were patched together out of plaster intending to last just a few months.

I have interest. Intrigue.
I would hope WE can do this together and collectively check it out.
I'd like to share images from these worlds fairs, and then government buildings from around the world, and then architecture and city layouts from the late 1800s and early 1900s
So when you gonna let us in on your reasoning for "not believing" these were meant to be temporary?

What’s the unofficial story?

This goes beyond worlds fair buildings.
We'll get there.

I think you believe aliens built these.

I don't really believe in aliens. Especially not physical beings like we associate with the word.

I can’t wait for your Baton Rouge 1900 thread in this series.

I figured it out.
Spread of Marxist ideologies.

I think this one is still there or something very similar. I think it’s either an old courthouse or capital building.

Damn, it looked pretty boring then as it does now.

OP don't realize that this is the only World's Fair structure we were sad to see go.

WARNING: long post full of crackpot stuff ahead!
Here’s what he’s getting at: there’s a series of theories called “Phantom Time Theory”. The basic premise is that the number of years between the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the beginning of the Renaissance is not nearly as numerous as recorded history suggests. Estimates of just how many years were “inserted” range from 270 years to nearly 1000. The basic premise is that either early Renaissance or late Medieval rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, who controlled those early European Universities, wanted to put distance between themselves and the original Roman Empire to make their dynasties seem like they had been in control far longer than reality, and that Christianity had been in control far longer. These theorists believe the pagan themes in the Renaissance art works weren’t simply homages to the classical period, but paintings by contemporary practitioners of the Roman pagan religions that the Church was trying to stamp out.
The way they did this was to fabricate dynasties by taking the same stories, repeating them, and simply changing the names. The idea would be that the Anglo-Saxon conquest of England, the early Viking sagas, and the Norman conquest were the exact same event, just with the names changed. That way, an entire Ango-Saxon dynasty of rulers could be invented to make it look like the Roman Empire in britain had died off long ago.
Odoacer (who sacked Rome, ending the Roman Empire) and m could potentially be the same person. The Vandal conquest of North Africa and the Islamic conquests were the same event.
Basically, once one accepts the premise that you cannot trust recorded history, the chronology of EVERYTHING comes into question. The evidence cited by Phantom Time Theorists are the lack of archaeological evidence for the Dark ages in europe, a nearly 300 year gap in building construction In Constantinople (now Istanbul), discovery of Romanesque architecture in Western Europe constructed centuries after the Western Empire supposedly fell, a discrepancy in the number of leap years, and the complete lack of original copies of historical documents from before 1300, all of which come from Universities run by the same order of monks. The idea is that who ever wanted to change history had opportunity, motive, and there exists no older primary sources.
Now, where does this whole craziness come into play with these worlds fair buildings all over America? So, what if the history the Church was trying to erase wasn’t just Greco-Roman Paganism? Ever wondered why no matter where you go in the world, you always see these huge beautiful buildings of similar architecture? Nearly all are attributed to the late 19th century or the colonial period. However, buildings like those seemingly cannot be duplicated today. Why is that? The crackpot theory is that this architecture is “Imperial Architecture”, of which the Roman Empire was a part or a vassal. This massive Empire once spanned the entire world (including the United States) but was destroyed by the banking elite and the Catholic Church through a series of wars that also served to destroy historical documents and erase collective cultural memories of this Empire. The idea is that ancient Roman architecture, Medieval Romanesque Architecture, Renaissance Classic Architecture, colonial neo classic architecture are all actually the same thing. Those plantations in the South weren’t homages to the Greeks, they were Roman palaces that were “found” by American colonists and refurbished. In fact, all of this architecture was not built in the 18th/19th centuries. They were pre-existing buildings that were simply renovated. America was once “Roman” as well, and the World’s Fair was used as a cover to destroy these ancient buildings to destroy the memory of America’s Roman past to replace it with the colonial narrative that the previous occupants were all “noble savages”. Chicago, New York, St. Louis, etc were once “Roman” cities, and are far older than history says. The World’s Fair combined with the Napoleonic Wars, American Civil War, Crimean War, Franco-Prussian War, and World Wars were used to systematically destroy all of the old records and much of the old imperial architecture so that the cultural memories of this old civilization would disappear.
Now, what happened to that civilization? Mud Flood. The Imperial Architecture was not just “found”, it was buried and had to be dug up because they were buried in sediment by the Great Flood. The worldwide Empire was essentially the Atlantean civilization, and that flood occurred sometime in the early 18th century. The wars were used to destroy the cultural memory of these events and provide a “restart” for civilization to explain why who was now in charge. The reason for the massive scale of these buildings is that the Empire wasn’t human, but giants. They were the offspring of angels and humans from the bible. Those structures are massive because the original builders were 10ft tall.
As you can see, the farther down into r/CulturalLayer you go, the more absurd the theories become.
