They believe that there was this lost Empire called Tartary in modern day Eastern Russia which was a contemporary of the Roman Empire. Early maps show Tartary, display flags for it, mark locations of cities, but later maps delete it entirely. A lot of these conspiracy theories out of Russia revolve around the idea of this lost empire having been purposefully deleted from history and all remaining evidence of it wiped out systematically by the Soviets.
This isn't accurate as far as what I've seen from people who are investigating Tartaria on a real level, as it wasn't simply something confined to what is now Russia.

In reality, Tartary was the term used as a placeholder
Yeah, that's what wiki says.

I think he's saying it is interesting that considering the theory revolves around a small number of people having enough power to, in-concert, erase and rewrite history, that most of the theories all date back to just 2 Russian academics.
It doesn't though.
My answer was appropriate - that it's a bit foolish to start and finish your research on the topic of alternative history with a night on an internet thread.

Putting words in other people's mouths and tossing around passive aggressive insults is a great way to cover up for not really knowing what you want to say.
Anyone with an internet connection and a cable TV subscription has been exposed to far more than one night's worth of "alternative" history conspiracy theories.
But if it helps to make you feel smarter, then sure. I've spent all of one night studying history. You got me.

Literally using your exact words.
And anything on the history channel has no merit concerning this topic.

No, you literally made up the "start and finish" part.
Get some sleep.

Did the Russians purposefully rewrite the history of its interactions with Central Europe?
Do you believe that Ghengis Khan, as we know him, was a historical fabrication of the 19th century or that he was an amalgamation of various rulers of Tartary that looked nothing like modern day portrayals?
Do you believe that what we call Native Americans were actually part of a larger Tartar civilization native to Central Asia?
Do you believe that these "temporary structures" destroyed following Worlds Fairs in several American cities around the turn of the Century were actually old vestiges of this aforementioned Tartarian civilization in the Americas? I am asking you if these were cheaply constructed buildings made to look old verses these buildings being actually old classical architecture that was purposefully destroyed.
What are some other possible explanations for these fabulous structures other than (A) that they belonged to a classical civilization; or (B) they were temporary structures created for the World's Fair and were moved or demolished soon thereafter?

Looks like I missed more "I know so much more than you that I could never possibly begin to explain what I know to such a small minded simpleton" bullshite by HT.
At least you're finally starting to discuss some things instead of being so scared of being laughed at that you dismiss any questions about your thoughts/theory as an attack

I would like to hear more about his Irish Russia connection theories. The foundation of modern Russia is typically associated with the descendants of Vikings who founded Kiev, calling their kingdom the Kievian Rus (word for Roost). Dublin was similarly settled by vikings around the same time.
Is OP hinting at their shared Viking heritage or is speaking of a far older connection?
Not much is known about Bronze Age Europe outside of the Eastern Mediterranean, but we know that Celtic populations were prominent across Western Europe. We know that bronze weapons and tools found all over Egypt and Greece contain copper of purities only found in the Great Lakes region of North America. Is OP suggesting that what we now know as Russia started as part of a global celtic civilization that traded throughout the globe during the Bronze Age?

To me, that's odd social behavior to ask 6+ questions, many of which have a massive scope, in one post and expect a reply.
You keep behaving in ways that are red-flags for me as it relates to who I put out valuable energy to on the internet.
I should be able to post pictures of a worlds fair - basically say I think there's some fishy stuff going on here and allude to those things, and let you know I'm not going anywhere and plan to continue posting on this topic and progress on many subtopics within this genre.
That's pretty reasonable to me, and I'd bet most, but clearly not to you and just a couple others.
I like to keep things from being predetermined. Instead I like to keep my beliefs open for fluidity and movement.
If I was only interested in me and what I currently believe I wouldn't be posting on a public forum, as it's unlikely to change someones mind. I'm fascinated by gauging where people are at and how they process and see things, especially on topics like this.
I clearly believe in a falsified past -- to what extent I do not know.
I clearly believe part of that falsified past involves buildings amongst us that we inherited in some way.
Relax, dude.

I am interested in what you believe, since you are the OP. How about you just pick any of those questions and answer them? You don’t owe me anything, but I am curious to hear your opinions.

I guess you're just going to keep ignoring what I've said like 5 times about being interested in what people think without framing things for them beforehand with what I think I might know.
My beliefs are in motion.
You want them to be concrete.
I've told you I believe in a falsified past, to what extent I do not know.
I've told you I believe part of that falsified past involves inherited buildings.
That's two pretty substantial beliefs, in my opinion.
Relax, dude.

Geezus H Christ. Watching people try to honestly and normally interact with you and then observing your response to them is the literal definition of a whip in the arse.

Laugh.
Normal interaction is asking 6 question in one post, all of which have a pretty large scope? Nah. That's not normal social behavior.
It's also not normal social behavior to ignore what people say and continue demanding what they want, even if it conflicts with what someone has said their intentions are.
What you quoted of mine is super reasonable on any level in a normal social arena, but this isn't a normal social arena.
This is a nest of people who don't have to abide by social-norms, it's understood that what people actually say means very little because of how easily perception can be manipulated by a post like the one you just made.

I wouldn't need to know who anyone is for my response to be appropriate based on the information you provided to me.
That's pretty bad, man.

You remind me of someone I work with every now and again in the private sector.
Both of you are often wrong, but never in doubt. You're both completely lacking in self-awareness. Either via blind or wilfull ignorance. But so completely self-assured it's somewhat amazing...while simultaneously sad.
For him it makes me giggle after we talk. For you? It manifests itself with you contorting yourself mentally and using message board posts so that you never have to acknowledge just how many people here try to talk to you and then get so frustrated and then give up and in.
Some people never interact but try to follow the conversation to get something meaningful out of it...only to read you...I dunno...prattle insufferably...in an attempt to create a binary outcome with every person you interact with and simply start downvoting every single post you put up.
I don't mean to be harsh or argumentative. But if you can't see that whatever points you're trying to make are completely being lost in just how poor your delivery is when you interact with people then I'm not sure you'll ever get what you allegedly want out of spending time here.
If you make dealing with your own contributions this tedious and difficult this consistently, you'll end up in IB Freeman territory in no-time. You may feel like there's no need to compromise...but if you have any desire to get some decent back-and-forth conversation or a discussion moved forward...you need to look back at this crap and see where you're at in life.
I told Chad504Boy this on the Saints Board. Sometimes winning an argument on the internet is like winning a Gold Medal in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still fricking retarded.
Sorry again. Just my take, Chief.
