In 1885, New Orleans had the equivalent about where Audubon Park is now.

I'm not trying to "smash down" anything except your fake I'm smarter than everybody here, just take this journey with me and maybe you can be enlightened like me bullshite.

Jesus Christ. We need some hardcore Rankians to take back history. Between the dumbshit conspiracy theorists and the even dumber SJW revisionists, it is just embarassing.

I have found that most of the hardcore alternative history conspiracy theorists on the internet are Russians or people whose parents grew up in the Soviet Bloc but emmigrated to England after the fall of the Iron Curtain. They were educated in Soviet Schools where historical revision and purposefully erasing negative history was a fact of life. These are people who have emerged from a culture where they were lied to about EVERYTHING into a culture where everything can be questioned. The internet doesn't just allow the entire knowledge base of mankind to be accessible, it also surrounds that knowledge with massive amounts of conjecture, bad information, propoganda, and outright fabrications passed off as fact. It is tough to cut through the noise and find subjective truth.
If the Soviet Union could so completely rewrite history within their sphere of control, why couldn't other groups have done so throughout history? Once one accepts the premise that history is written by the victors and that it can be rewritten once those who were there are all dead, one can start making all kinds of assertions that literally every historical event prior to the invention of the camera was a fabrication. These types tend to team up with young earth creationists, ancient astronaut theorists, and all nature of conspiracy theorists to feed each other with an endless stream of questioning of the established narrative completely bereft of any real answers.

I wouldn't say that.
The idea to present things in phases without an exact 'theory' has a bit to do with knowing how people take things.
And for me, it was nice to see some of these buildings (not just from worlds fairs) free from any predetermined direction.
It ALSO has to do with the fact t I think it's pretty arrogant to have the answers/theory when there's so many questions, especially on a topic this massive in scope.
As for your questions: I think you're pretty uniformed on some key things, which I know isn't what you want to hear. That's not really an opinion, it's simply impossible to ask some of the things you asked if you were more informed.
If you care to stick around we can work on some of that together, as I'm always learning as well.
Sounds to me like you can't be fully open minded to history being falsified because you weren't there, and no one living today was there -- which in a way is reasonable.
Hang out when these threads pop up, or don't.
But if you do, it'd be great if you held back from filling in blanks on my behalf.

Someone asked what you were getting at, you didn't give them an answer, so I tried to use context clues from this thread and prior threads you've started to answer that question based on some common internet conspiracy theories that I know a little about. I don't claim to be an expert on anything, but I like to think I know a little bit about a lot of different things. I love researching conspiracy theories and am a pretty open-minded person. I like to examine historical events from the perspective that they were written by the victor and wonder what that same event would sound like written by the loser. I like the idea of wondering what possible alternative explanations exist to the established narrative, and wondering if there is a pattern to these alternative explanations that could lend themselves to being more likely than what we are indoctrinated to accept. I'm a weird nerd that enjoys such thought experiments. Since I have experienced many things in my life which I cannot explain, and seen many instances of a long-held official narrative being proven false, I like to explore these "weird" topics and keep an open mind. That is why you will often find me in every offbeat thread whether it's about archaeology, the moon landing, aliens, who shot JFK, Q Anon, ghosts, bigfoot, etc.

That's great.
But you filled in some massive gaps and purposely behaved condescending with the aim of derailing and framing my intentions.
You can think you're just some swell guy with genuine interest if you need to validate yourself.
And pardon my stereotyping, but I question the conscious alertness of people who write in big blocks of text without separating thoughts.

Which things in particular? The only thing I know is that I know nothing. Remember, my big posts on the topic aren't about what I believe, merely a synopsis of theories that I have read about on the internet. These aren't my opinions, but those of others made succinct enough for the OT to consume.

false, the condescension was with your dismissive attitude towards those asking what you were hinting at. Not every poster who comments on a weird history thread is doing so to "pounce" on the OP and poke holes in their theory. Most just want to hear what the OP is trying to explain. While some may want to debate the merits, others just want to hear something new that they've never heard before.

Now you're just being a douche. If you go back to my first post in this thread on the bottom of page 1, it is divided into several paragraphs separated by spaces. In fact, all of my separate topics are organized as such.

You're right, Bob.
You weren't condescending and very eager to lift the veil to file this under the immediately dismissible taboo genre: conspiracy, which you knew would result in other posters piling on negatively.
I said what I intended to do in a previous thread to the same people who asked me again in this thread.
I had hoped WE as a group could check some things out.
Looks like insecure people like yourself enjoy shitting on things too much for that to happen as it was intended.

Nothing but pure projection. I have a reputation on this board for exploring all kinds of taboo subjects in my posting. I am usually there to play devil's advocate and show multiple sides of an issue. I did not come here to shite on your thread. You did that yourself with your "hinting" that there's some kind of hidden reason for all of this that you refused to explain.
If you didn't post like a condescending mystical douchebag, I wouldn't have to try and guess at what the point of these threads were. You posted multiple threads on the elaborate buildings constructed and destroyed for various Worlds Fairs around the Turn of the Century. I saw a pattern and attempted to find an explanation. I wouldn't have had any reason to do that if you weren't being a "hide the ball" poster in the first place.
You're so insecure and afraid of people laughing at you that you won't even state your point for people to hear in the first place! C'mon man! Quit being a wuss. This is an anonymous internet message board, and you have under 100 posts. Let it fly! Speak your mind and let us make jokes about tits, baws, trucknuts, Les Miles' lack of control over the subject matter, and fisticuffs at America's Drive-Inn.

Is this the point in the journey where the mystical cult leader tries to gather his believing flock for a trippy journey into the ether?

No, this is where he insults everyone, never explains the point of his OP, calls us all closed-minded or saboteurs, and abandons thread. He has made it clear that we're not "worthy" of understanding what his point is, so he's not going to bother explaining it.

Bob
If there's any projecting happening here it's on your end.
I wanted to post pics and see the reaction, as I think it's generally a surprise for most to see these buildings.
As we moved a long I wanted to share city build-outs, and more non-worlds fair architecture as we eventually tied some things together.
I think that intention is pretty reasonable and not condescending in nature.
I did answer one of these guys in the last thread as to what my intention was - it was accepted in that thread.
You took the backtrace from 1 out of 35 images I've posted on this topic and used it to make a massive assumption that resulted in an extremely long post that reframed this entirely.
This was intended to be something that WE as a group checked out together without pigeon holing with predetermined theories that have attached stigmas.
I don't have an organized theory for the entire history of the world, that would be pretty unreasonable.
I have intrigue and interest in the concept of falsified history and hoped to approach it in a way that didn't paralyze the exercise.
*I've now given you way too much investment of my time. If you want to participate it would be appreciated if you not make grand assumptions and speak on my behalf - I think that's a reasonable request.

False. I didn't backtrace anything. I had just seen a thread about the world's fairs about 9 months ago when I did a deep rabbit hole dive into the r/CulturalLayer subreddit. I didn't have to run a backtrace. I was already familiar with the idea. Based on your previous thread about Chicago, I thought that's where you were going with it. I saw a pattern. I apologize for my mistake. If you had been more clear and less dismissive in this thread, such a mistake would not have been made on my part.
I had actually started a thread on phantom time theory once in the past...or did I...?

Yeah, I went down an alternative timeline rabbit hole one night and it was hilarious (or scary) how much of it could be traced back to two soviet academics. They're not exactly mainstream in Russia, either, but it was consistent with some Russian mythology of being the true heirs of the Roman Empire and attempts to delegitimize Western European history.

I'm curious why you'd limit your feelings on a topic to one night you spent looking on an internet thread.
I'm curious why people don't choose more often to be more internal when it comes to processing things like this.
As for what you just wrote, I'd caution highly against trying to fit square blocks in round holes.
If you're going to look into alternative history, it's a little foolish to expect to apply all the frameworks of the current world with an alternative past.
If history has been altered, it's possible, and in cases shown, that names we associate with things are not their true form.
Russia in the way you're using it here isn't at all what you think it is, and actually may lean more towards Irish heritage in the area that is now 'Russia'.
There's A LOT to all of this.

They believe that there was this lost Empire called Tartary in modern day Eastern Russia which was a contemporary of the Roman Empire. Early maps show Tartary, display flags for it, mark locations of cities, but later maps delete it entirely. A lot of these conspiracy theories out of Russia revolve around the idea of this lost empire having been purposefully deleted from history and all remaining evidence of it wiped out systematically by the Soviets.
In reality, Tartary was the term used as a placeholder for the vast regions of central Asia and Siberia that westerners in the Renaissance and age of enlightenment knew existed, but had no contact with. The areas associated with Russia were the Russian Tartary. The areas associated with China were the Manchurian Tartary. The area controlled by the Mongols based around Crimea was known as Little Tartary. As these areas became more integrated into the Western World and their peoples and rulers more known, the term fell out of use as the peoples of those regions never referred to themselves as Tartars. It's similar to how the American government used to refer to wide swaths of the old West as "Indian Country" and all of the people there as Indians. The Indians had their own place names and their own names for their tribes. As those lands became more settled, they dropped the blanket term "Indian Country" and formed territories and states like "Kansas", "Nebraska", "Oklahoma", etc.
The phrase "Tartary" was eventually replaced by "Siberia" and "Central Asia", both terms coined in the 19th Century.

I think he's saying it is interesting that considering the theory revolves around a small number of people having enough power to, in-concert, erase and rewrite history, that most of the theories all date back to just 2 Russian academics.

No one's interested in going on a "journey" with a condescending arse making vague allusions to the secrets of the world. Just post what you believe or shut the frick up.
