The Advocate Article

SO, not only will my property and sales taxes go up, I will also have to purchase an additional occupational license for this part of town if I want to work in the area. And a great deal of my work is in the St. George area.

Right now I have garbage pickup twice a week, with separate "big" trash/vegetation pickup once a week. Water service is fine. Police presence is fine. Everything is fine.

I imagine all that is going to change. I know that buying a permit/occupational license in Central is a nightmare. As it is with surrounding parishes/localities.

I don't want to pay more money for your precious little snowflake to not have to go to school with kids who, god forbid, don't look like they do. If that's what you want, either move, or pay out of YOUR pocket.

Looks like the advocate needs to read tigerdroppings bc I learned all I needed to know about the subject in an earlier thread.

I'd be willing to bet that most of the better places to live have "higher" taxes.

Not a lib or a bitch, live in the proposed St. George area and have ZERO desire for St George.

You sound like a moron when you all you can do to "argue" is call people names.

The article doesn't say taxes are going up.

Sure do, they attend a EBR Magnet school. Were you at any of the community forums that EBR school board offered for community input or do you just sit behind a keyboard and bitch about how bad things are?

Some, but nothing like this.

I'm trying to putout good information so people can make an intelligent decision. The OP on this thread just put up some BS which was wrong.

There are a lot of factors for folks to consider without the racist stuff and flat out lies confusing things.

If you don't want to pay more to do your precious little job in St. George then don't.

No. Central was always a distinct and separate area of the parish. If you said,"I'm headed out to Central to my friend's house," everyone knew where you were going.

5 years ago, if you would have said,"I'm going to St. George to get a burger," nobody would have known WTF you were talking about. The fire district was named St. George, after a small subdivision named Village St. George, but nobody out this way ever called it that. They lived in "Oak Hills" or "Shenandoah" or "White Oak Landing" or "Hickory Ridge".
