The Battle of New Orleans reenactment occurs in Chalmette.

Not true, they just want their own piece of the corruption pie.

As part of the SG welcoming committee, we've all gotten together and decided we don't want you in St George. Please leave and never return.

Oh you mean the place that asked to be incorporated into BR but BR said no because there's too many white people? That place?

The place that was made to pay taxes on services they did not receive? That place? (Cats, police, fire, etc)

The place that wants better schools than BR can offer and less crime? That place?

Go frick yourself. And while you're fricking yourself, learn a bit about the area's history... you fricking useless waste of oxygen

Actually, we were part of the UNINCORPORATED areas of Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge didn't want us because the tax grift would be up, and they'd have to redirect those funds to the people that pay them. All we wanted was schools, Baton Rouge said shut up, gives us your tax dollars, and you have no say in how we spend it because you are just the UNINCORPORATED folks.

You certainly are. You start a thread, get shut down quickly and never return. Good job sport.

you could throw a dart at a map of of the US, blindfolded and hit a spot offering a better quality of life 97 out of 100 times. I could be being generous here

I’d be willing to bet that any mail or package that gets delivered to your house says Baton Rouge and not St George.

I don’t like St George, but it was Baton Rouge that caused this.

St George organized and made a formal request to the goofballs that were in charge of Baton Rouge. They met with themselves and decided that St George needed to continue to pay into Baton Rouge but not get any votes or services.

Just letting St George citizens have simple a vote for BR mayor could stopped the entire cascade of events.

Do you think people haven't done this out of some sense of pride for Baton Rouge?

The city is incorporated. It was litigated for nearly 5 years after the incorporation and was upheld in court. Not sure why you can't accept St. George as a city. You'll get over it one day.

People of SG were always allowed to vote for mayor. The mayor refused our school district petition and told us if you want a school district, then form your own city. So we did.

The latest school district vote however, failed. Louisiana has a law that any new school districts must be voted on by the entire state, so i'm assuming the SG officials will try and do a better job of educating the entire state and not just the residents of SG and BR about the school district. It will happen, eventually, it's just a matter of time.

Mail going to Central doesn’t say Central on it despite being incorporated for around 20 years because they fricked up their petition of the post office to make that change, which was a one time petition. frick that up and you can’t fix it.

St George hasn’t attempted it yet as a result.

Every amendment went down that cycle in part because the Democrats wanted to piss on Landry’s parade by blocking any attempts to change things.

Doesn’t help that the opposition was blatant flouting the race card on the amendment by putting signs up talking about equal schools with a silhouette of a little black girl on it.
