No, but if I liked the guy I'd probably split the loss with him. If I didn't like him, and didn't have to work with him much I wouldn't.

Interesting takes.

I thought it would be split more 50/50. Only 1 so far has said to pay the young buck the cash.

The argument for paying is I gave him agency to act on my behalf to purchase the ticket, while the argument against is I certainly wouldn't be going through some crazy service to get the tickets. I would go through a reputable 3rd party where I have a guarantee of some sort.

I think I may just take him out to a nice dinner in a week and give him some ribbing about it. Then I pay $50 or so for the dinner on his behalf

Find actual tickets for the game
Buy them
Give one to him
Solved.

Seriously send an email to the Stars explaining the situation. They sometimes have held back tickets for any ticketing issues.

Someone gave me tickets to a CBJ playoff game last year 3rd hand. They ended up being reprinted and used by someone else (just a mix up).

We were standing at the gate, I explained the situation not really expecting anything and they gave us decent free tickets.

You never know til you ask.

See how he looks the day after the game first.

If his voice is raw and/or he looks hungover, he probably just dropped you for somebody else so you don't necessarily want to reward that with a steak lunch.

You sure you’re not the mark and he is trying to scam you? Never ordered the tix and trying to get cash out of you.

Well then we have paid double for the tickets. So it's solved in one way but then each of us are out the price of 2 tickets.

I would have gone to the game but not for $300 a pop!

Sporting Ticket Event Scam

You hear about the scam where friend 1 asks friend 2 if interested in going to game. Friend 2 commits and friend 1 comes back "claiming" - man I got scammed out of the money for the tickets can you give me your half so I'm not out the whole amount? Friend 2 pays and friend 1 profits.

You should have paid him before he bought the tickets.

Well just think of it this way, if you paid the guy and he lost your money in a scale, would you demand your money back?

I know I would. So I wouldn't pay this guy after the fact.

Na his fault. If he cares and bothers you about it, maybe then I’d pay.
