Have an embarrassing travel history. Finally done with school and will be looking to travel a bunch in the next 5-6 years before we start having kids. Outside of the Southeast I’ve only been to Colorado, Nevada (Vegas), and Arizona (Tucson).

So for me:
California (San Diego)
Washington (Seattle, Tacoma)
NY (NYC for Christmas holidays one year)
Utah (Salt Lake)

I'd like to go to Maine. I haven't spent much time in the NE.

Massachusetts (Boston, also Cape Cod)
Colorado (Denver)
Maine (Portland)
Oregon (Portland)
New York (Been to NYC. Want to do the Hamptons)

California is my favorite state in the country but I get to go a handful of times a year already. I've been to Austin, but I'd like to go back leisurely and do the surrounding area.

Sounds like a nice Yankee/Southerner blend.

I only haven't been to the Dakotas and Delaware. Guess I should go check out Mt Rushmore.

My wife has been to a lot fewer states than me and I always get overruled when I suggest that though.

From what I can tell, if you can get to Mexico’s Pacific coast, you could just rent a canoe and paddle out to either one of them.
