The correct term is voluntold.

Tricked was more like it. Had to drop off truck for 10k mile service at 8:30am. Didn’t want to wait in the lobby for an hour or two, she said “oh I can come get you I have this thing to do but it won’t take long”. Next thing I know I’m at some public park unboxing packs of paper, breaking down boxes, and carrying shite from peoples car trunks to these volunteer tents….for 3 hours.

This method doesn't support what the project is trying to do. You can't just set up a table and yell " FREE STUFF" because there are those that want to take advantage.

People in need should submit their names to some list, showing documentation of kids they have in school. The program then puts together the items a student needs to get started and delivers them. It is first come first serve.

Period. If you have a need, then plan for the need.

The important thing is do you feel good about yourself and feel superior?

I didn’t feel good about myself, I definitely felt superior to most of the people collecting supplies.

Good enough. You are awarded 10 virtue signaling points.

I like what my kids school does and parents pay a flat one time fee at end of year and school supplies those items on list for next school year. Only thing that does not cover is the summer reading list books.

That sounds racist as it requires effort

Same as requiring ID to vote

Parents also getting mad at the food trucks allowed to be there selling stuff, saying it should all be free.
Yall invited those that are used to getting free stuff to an event to get free stuff. You are lucky no one was hit with a folding table.
