I moved from Baton Rouge to Covington 4 years ago. Never been happier.

I like the smell of leaves , wood, marsh, sugar cane, etc. burning. And weed. Doesn’t bother me.

Back in the 70s and early 80s there was no better place to be a kid than Covington, LA.

Next time, drive to the lakefront in Old Mandeville, bring a picnic blanket and a football or some bikes and ride around.

When the weather is nice, it’s a Great spot to take in the scenery. You’ll forget your in Louisiana.

How to say that you’re a low achievement poor without saying that you’re a low achievement poor.

The only nice things in Covington are the stained glass windows in the middle of town.

Parents lived there for awhile (N Flower Estates).

I’d agree. Loved hitting up Madisonville and the whole area. Had a farm in MS north of Stinkoloosa as well.

Fond memories

Don’t worry. With greedy politicians pushing growth and low income housing, it won’t be so nice in about 20 years. If they were smart, they’d shut down new building and none of these low cost neighborhoods.

Its on 21. The North and South parts of Flower's Estates aren't connected, it always appreciated when going there if someone tells you which one to turn in.

Or just follow the gps now.

Thank you. Public Works takes pride in keeping the whole city looking good.

They appreciate when folks make mention. I'll share yours with them.

Bruh that trailer park right outside city limits on 190 has over 11,000 welfare recipients. Go in the other direction and you find a ghetto of about 15,000 between Covington and Abita Springs.

Why not both? Weed stinks worse by far. Trashy as hell too.

True statement for the past 50 years.

Not so true in the last 3. Cov PD did basic police work for past couple of years. Over 120 guns off the streets and the bad guys who had the guns. Those who aren't in Parish Jail today moved elsewhere. About the only arrests we make now are knuckleheads from out of town who didn't get the memo. It's not perfect but it's a different place (nicer) than decades before.

Zig zag through the neighborhood next time you're in the area. It hasn't looked better in my lifetime.
