Wouldn't it be wonderful if every single looter was shot dead on sight?

It would certainly put an end to looting.

5,000 national guard coming today. I don’t think it gets too bad tbh

I just hope they don’t go around confiscating guns again like they did for Katrina. Many people never got their guns back

Would LOOOOOOVE for the single downvoter to have the guts explain why shooting looters dead isn't a good idea?

to. It absolutely sucks but the reality is 16 years ago we saw what will happen and this is set up worse
Its a little different because half the city was underwater and resources couldn’t even get into the city. I expect looting this time around but there is some sense of control right now.

Other than that you will go to prison for murder? Can't think of any.

This is one of the most overblown urban legends from Katrina.

This is not an urban legend. I had guns confiscated from myself and a group of people by the st. Tammany sheriff department. We were not arrested or cited. They asked us if we had weapons. We said that we did. They raised their rifles at us, asked us where they were and took them. We were able to get them back about a month later but only because we new a councilman.

Sounds like New Orleans didn’t flood much so I’m sure they were looting all night with power out everywhere.

Given the number of gun owners in Nola on us site I’m sure if it’s true someone has first hand experience if it happened.

My experience with NG and LE post Katrina was more: “like sweet Beneli”, “yeah, that 3 1/2” 00 should do the trick”, “tracer rounds are fun” and “good call on the suppressor”
