Yep. Sucks for the family though.
I wonder if they approached SWA before their flights and alerted them to the potential issue. Not sure if SWA would have made accommodations though, but at least they might have been prepared for what happened.

Kids almost never get or transmit the virus according to many studies. Why can’t people use some damn common sense. It’s not like they were all wearing fitted N95 masks, so they are largely just a virtue signal anyway.

All the goof balls running around claiming 'medical exemptions' for themselves or for their kids creates a situation where people do stupid shite with people that have real issues. Everyone starts looking at people that claim issues with a skeptical eye.

Not about the kid...its about the parents shouldn't be assholes and should do some checking ahead of time to prevent shite like this from happening.
If they did, then theyre double assholes for bringing that on.

You missed the reason why they are assholes. They prob knew the rules. They just felt that they shouldn’t apply to them. They had a dr’s note after all. And they were “considerate” enough to even bring it along!

I flew Southwest in June/July and there were several people not wearing masks. I just assumed they had some kind of medical condition that prohibited them from wearing it. Guess it just depends on the flight you are on.

It’s a mix. Sure, I get the “rules are rules” aspect of it. But come on, let’s be real. These “rules” are extremely stupid in how they are being enforced.
Your dirty arse cloth mask You haven’t washed for a month on your chin or with your nose sticking out Isn’t doing anything and we all know it.
Kids aren’t really susceptible to this stuff nor do they seem to transmit it. People that are susceptible probably shouldn’t be flying anyway.
Maybe what needs to happen is some common sense. I bet the risk of that kid dying or even being hospitalized with the Rona is less than them dying in a plane crash.
