I cant stand Southwest Airlines, but I'm forced to use them due to the frequency of routes and where I travel for business.

I'm hoping Breeze Airways continues to expand their outbound routes from MSY. Having to fly to a hub is a waste of time and increases ticket costs.

I'd imagine TSA would have a problem letting your whole family through with 1 ticket.

Hey, at least the terrorists could fit into the cockpit.

I think that's what needs to be mandated. All terrorists must be "superfat".

Would have saved a lot of lives

So skinny people have to pay more for a heavy bag but a lazy fat frick gets a second seat for free? frick that. Not that I fly Southwest often but I'd rather give my money to woke arse Delta than support that bullshite.

This will come back to bite them in the arse.

Don’t expect it to be a lasting policy change

This is annoying but the pre boarder crap is much worse. I have been flying southwest pretty much exclusively the last couple years and it’s gotten absurd. I started flying United more lately and it’s a much better experience. There might be one or two pre boarders on a United flight where I’ve seen over 20 on Southwest. I’m typically A1 in boarding but the perk has really been eliminated

I fly frequently probably, 3 weeks out of the month. Luckily I get upgraded a good bit on Delta. This week I did not and sat next to a 6'9 guy normal weight, we chatted it up for a bit as he was from Russia. He did not complain one time on the 3 hour flight.

That guy I felt bad for. These fatties I do not. I had to sit next to one few months ago and I had to bunch up in the window the whole time. Of course she complained the whole trip while bringing on a meatball sub.

Customers whose bodies "encroach" past the armrest are entitled to an extra seat, according to Southwest's inclusion policy

Yeah, that won’t be gamed AT ALL…

Someone is going to want a whole row to themselves and find a way to “encroach” on the seats to either side of them to accomplish it.

I just recently rode on Southwest for the first time and I had always heard they were low cost.

From my experience they've been more expensive then almost all other flight options.

Am I crazy?

You arent. Go to Kiwi and check prices for any flight...then go compare Southwest. Southwest is always more expensive

Man, fatty entitlement is about to go through the roof.

Theyll expect all kinds of concessions from those who have taken better care of themselves.

Flight prices need to be 3 times as expensive as they are to remove all the fricking chaff from the mix.

When I am emperor I will mandate that, like the carry on sizer by the ticket counter, we also have a row of seats, within which obese people will be required to sit in to prove they can fit without encroaching on another passengers space. If they do not fit, they will have the ability to buy another seat on the flight if they are able, otherwise they will denied boarding. Bonus, now that so many people travel with their dogs, you could also make sure that someone's dog isn't too large when both passenger and dog are sitting.

Of course, they will also have the ability to buy two or three seats when booking.

The issue will solve itself and everyone will be happy (or in the case of the fat people, motivated to lose weight to save money)

Yeah.... That's going to go over well on full flights

My understanding from a friend who uses this is that when booking you have to book the extra seat and Pau for it, once the flight is done you would have the seat refunded by Southwest.

Unless this policy is different from what she has always done
