Southwest Airlines flight cancellations

I’m hearing of massive flight cancellations yesterday and today. Conjecture is that they are due to walkouts due to vax mandates. SWA websites are blaming weather out east. I don’t see anything on the news about this. Anyone have any info on this?
ETA: Just heard it is due to ATC walkouts in Jacksonville Center.

Hundreds of thousands of travelers impacted. Thousands of flights cancelled. Crawfish prices going up, for sure.

Apparently JAX had a bunch of ATC personnel walk out due to vaccine mandates. Airport blamed it on weather, military maneuvers, and staffing shortages, but local news says the airport won't expound on staffing issues and weather should not have been a factor.

A buddy of mine arrived there early afternoon. Said he thought there were fewer airport personnel than normal in an airport. Went back to the airport when he realized his equipment bag wasn’t among his luggage. (He is a freelance photographer shooting the Titans-Jaguars game today) he said by the time he returned JAX looked like a ghost town.

JAX ARTCC is not the same as the airport.
Handles enroute traffic over the northern part of Florida and parts of GA, AL, etc.

Yes and no. They were moving the plans along just fine. This overreach potentially creates a fresh generation of anti tyrant pro freedom americans.

I had a flight with them today. They pushed it to tomorrow. I switched to Delta, so their desired effect is working.
According to news reports:
“The airline has said that an air traffic management program put in place due to weather has caused significant delays, although some customers say it is rumored that employees are on strike.”
