My wife just made me shovel so it doesn't build up too much for tomorrow AM (which I didn't want to do ).
Why would that matter to her? She going to be the one on the morning shift?

A vacationing penguin is driving his car through Arizona when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station.
After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream shop and, being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal."
"No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

Bought the wife a snow blower after I got sick of paying $100 a pop for the lawn care folks to clear it.

There are snow pushers, not just snow shovels…handheld but act more like a plow than a shovel. Wider than a shovel, you can flip them over and push a wide swath of snow down the driveway. Or, you can hold them at an angle like a snowplow and use them that way, FAR easier for me to do than picking up and tossing shovelfuls of snow.. Look at Ace, Home Repot

I just don't get all the shoveling by folks. Granted I am out in the boonies here in Vermont where I got about 14 inches Sunday and closing in on another foot tonight. I will shovel about an 8x8 area around my front door when it is this deep, but that is all the shovelingi will do. I have 4 steps down off my deck, 30 ft to my Durango and a 250 ft long driveway. Good boots, tires, 4WD and a vehicle with a little height off ground and I walk or drive over everything. I call my neighbor with a skidsteer for a plow maybe twice a year when it gets close to 2 ft deep, but that's it. I understand the safety issue if you have small kids or elderly, but the right tools to do job, make less of a job to do.

That's how they got Jeremy Renner. What do you have against your neighbor?

Me and my neighbor are legit northwoods mountain men...not just a person playing one on TV...even if they stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Touche, but let's not forget that Renner had his leg damn near ripped off and sternum crushed and lived. Dumb? Maybe. Tough. Absolutely.

As a canuck i am likely entitled to weigh in. For a suburban driveway a snowblower is lots. Getba decent one, toro is a good brand. Wait for snow to be over then go do the job. I still shovel front landing and back deck but otherwise its all blower. Note while my teenage son was at home a blower wasn't necessary;) For larger areas get a plow on a truck or hire a service. Btw I don't like snow but put up w it for cpl months a yr

Southerner here who was stationed in Albany, NY for recruiting duty back in 08. Dude I shoveled the shite out of the driveway - but know what the best was (sarcasm)? After all that work getting a nice, clean driveway, the snowplow would come along and put it right back. A lot of times with ice mixed in making it impossible for a snow shovel to remove it. Great times.
