Quite a line of storms. The hooked one near Johnson City looks especially mean.

Powers been out for an hour.

Another video of Shreveport storm

LINK

There was no warning on the storm at this point. Not even a severe thunderstorm. Don't think there's any injury reports at this point.

The HRRR has shown an uptick in convection tomorrow morning across Alabama. Should this occur, the risk of damaging winds and tornadoes would be higher than previously thought. The soundings/hodographs/parameters are extremely supportive of severe weather. #ALwx

Shut up Tyler, dammit.....

Watched that one touch down. Knocked out power at the SportsClips while I was waiting, walked out into the parking lot and saw arcing electrical lines under the funnel.

Go easy on my boy Tyler. He has been a really good addition down here even if he is from Ohio.

No lie, just got this text from a cousin in Shreveport (he got lost there during the 2007 Independence Bowl and never came back). He took this photo during a power flash caused by the earlier tornado.

So far, so good. The line is staying together with no signs of strong rotation in it as it nears the state line. One of the areas of concern was Southern central AR south of Little Rock. CAMs had shown cells firing ahead of the line. They are, but fortunately a little farther north than modeled. That area got worked over by rain earlier today. There's essentially a warm front draped across that area that could have acted as a trigger for storms. That hasn't been the case so far.

This is strictly speaking to the tornado concern. This line is still going carry some significant wind. That's a given with a line that's moving at 75mph per the warning.
