Last I saw it was projected to crest around 31 feet. For reference, in 2016 it was over 46. So I'd assume unless something major chances, there will be some minor flooding, but nothing crazy.

Good deal. Any chance you know what the projection was before the 2016 flood?

All I remember is that it changed several times over a two day period. I also know that we originally expected it to flood my parents house on Sunday, then Saturday. Water ended up in their house Friday morning due to how much damn rain fell right north of the Denham area that Thursday night.

Leaving Astros game last night was intense. Most ways back to I 10 were a couple feet of water at least.

Galveston Island still rocking and rolling this morning. No flooding from last night.

Memorial was very much closed this morning. Could get interesting depending on when the rain starts today and how heavy it is

Light rain off and on here in KW. Saw a news report over 400 homes here flooded.

Thankfully we didn't catch brunt last night in Eastern Fort bend. Katy got it bad but we were lucky after getting pounded Tuesday.

The spillway is expected to open today instead of Tuesday due to the Mississippi River rising over 6 inches in just the past 24 hours

Friday afternoon, seems like most of the weather is training south of Houston.

Hopefully the rain stays away for a while...a barge was split in half this afternoon and 25,000 bbls of gasoline was dumped into the Ship Channel.

Looks like that big blob off in the gulf that was headed towards SE LA is kinda breaking up a good bit.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of south central Texas and southeast Texas...
including the following counties...in south central Texas...
Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas...
Austin...Brazoria Islands...Chambers...Coastal Brazoria...
Coastal Galveston...Coastal Harris...Coastal Matagorda...
Colorado...Fort Bend...Galveston Island and Bolivar
Peninsula...Houston...Inland Brazoria...Inland Galveston...
Inland Harris...Inland Matagorda...Matagorda Islands...
Montgomery...Northern Liberty...Polk...San Jacinto...Southern
Liberty...Trinity...Walker...Waller and Wharton.
* Through 7PM Saturday
* Another round of showers and thunderstorms is anticipated to
develop Saturday morning into the afternoon. The main timing for
heavy rainfall looks to be from 9AM through about 4PM. Rainfall
totals of 1 to 3 inches with isolated 5 inch amounts are
possible, and if any of these rains fall on already saturated
grounds, more flash flooding could develop. The bulk of the
heavy rainfall will be focused south along and south of a
I-69/US-59 line with lower amounts of rain farther north.
* Based on the recent rainfall totals and possible rainfall
rates that we are anticipating during this event, we will be
using the following Flash Flood messaging. Messaging may need
to be scaled up if more extreme rainfall rates occur. Stay
Put. Do not attempt to travel. Underpasses and low-water
crossings will be life- threatening. If caught in a sinking
vehicle, get OUT. Bayous will likely exceed banks and
structure flooding could be possible.
Recommended actions
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued

Only about a mile off the shore from my house. Smell is pretty damn strong if you go outside. My H2S monitor went off this morning when I drove down by the lil neighborhood beach. City and TCEQ just saying it's nothing to worry about.
Damn near split that barge in half too
ETA 1pm-ish. They shut down most of the water access on the Bayside of Seabrook. Smells like diesel fuel outside. Still "nothing to worry about"
