Some things are just better suited for cash. I cannot stand how everything has to be card swipe these days.

It would be just fine if it was swipe/tap and that’s it. Now, every time you have to select/decline a tip. Adds up.

So your facebook friends are queso-nation losers that have never been to a music festival?

These things are usually held in places not used to such crowds.

But some folks would rather climb up a splintered wooden pole with nails and bitch than stand on the ground and enjoy the music,.

Not fine if they’re making people pay as they enter a parking lot. Instead of grabbing a bill and handing change, they have to swipe, the reader has to connect, sometimes there’s a delay, or maybe the card just won’t read.

And there’s a line behind them.

This shite grinds my gears, you pay an overpriced fee for a ticket.

Usually through one of the ticket services which rip you off for another $40-$50.

Then everything is overpriced inside such as $8.00 beers etc etc

Then these buzzards want another $25, $50, $100 to freaking park your car.

And it would stop the second folks stop going rather then be a p----- and go then complain about it on message boards,

Assuming this is a venue out basically in the middle of nowhere where you’re not fighting for downtown style parking, it shouldn’t cost a damn thing to park onsite when you paid $200+ for a ticket.

Cash vs card is not the issue here. Cash would take just as long, and majority of patrons wouldn’t even have it on them.

Parking at this style of concert has always been free IME.

You knew this would be the case before you purchase your tickets.

But you bought anyway.

Went both nights and had a great time. Friday night traffic was tough but Saturday night with a lot more people and there was no traffic. It was expensive but everything is to me. This was awesome for the town and parish

how bad the parking situation has been

That's nothing. Went to the F1 race at the Racetrack of the Americas outside of Austin. 200K to 250 there for the race. Only one exit from the parking area. Since we got there early to park close we waited almost 4 hours before we got out.

I've been to many many concerts and it's reached the point where it just isn't worth it for me anymore. It's the same thing over and over again. Buying tickets, wife has to buy a new outfit for some reason, go out to eat, pay for parking, be squeezed through security checkpoints like cattle, then squeezed through the entry, pay for over priced drinks, have some idiot believe that I have their seat because they are too drunk or high to read a letter and a number. 180 lb women wearing clothes that are 2 sizes too tight but they balance it with 2 inch eyelashes. Then have half of the crowd not watch the concert because they are filming it on their phone. Traffic is a problem because all of a sudden people forget that we all have to work together and become assholes leaving by cutting others off, honking horns. No matter where you go or what genre of music it is, this is the same process repeated over and over

That wasn't my quote, but I have cut wayyyyy back on going to events and breweries because of the prices. Breweries are the biggest offender, they made the portions tiny and jacked up the price. Sucks, I really like breweries, but I'm just not paying those prices because some doctor thought it would be a great investment. Get back to making beers other than IPAs and make the prices cheaper.

That’s why I’m never interested in VIP parking or trying to park close. I try to park near an exit, lined up for a quick getaway. I’d rather walk across a parking lot than sit in a jam for an hour.

I’m with you.

I like going to small local events, but anything with insane parking and traffic is pretty much out for me these days.

I almost turned around and drove back to BR yesterday when we were sitting in a 45 minute line at Hogs for the Cause only to be told the parking lot we were in line for is closed.

Hell, we gave up our LSU season tickets a few years ago because of how much a pain it is on your weekend as a whole to deal with the parking and traffic situation.

What do you want them to do, build a new road?

I’m not saying there aren’t issues to be addressed, but this is something that should be expected when a small town tries to host a large event. It’s not like BR or NO that has the infrastructure to get lots of people in and out quickly.

Cops can direct traffic but outside of having people at every single intersection/traffic control point until the interstate there’s going to eventually be a bottle neck where people sit and wait.
