Do your kid on the way, a huge favor.
You should not want a quiet household. Music on. TV on. Conversation at normal levels. Until you go to sleep.
The kid will quickly learn to sleep by ignoring the noises of normal life and that will serve him well his whole life.
ETA: And you don’t have to be dick parent trying to keep everyone quiet. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just go on and live like a normal person.

I've seriously considered this as well. I like to do landscaping so I would enjoy the shite out of this as well. Clumping bamboo doesn't spread and take over like running bamboo does so it's ideal. I've considered adding banana trees like you suggested as well. I may do a regular 6' fence with bamboo and other trees.

Probably about 60'. All other neighbors are great and they've also complained about his music. Nobody around here is a fan of his, to say the least. I don't know if he even realizes that or not, though.

Sounds like you are going to spend a lot of money to not really accomplish anything. Does your city have an ordinance about noise. Mine has one that if you can hear noise outside from the inside of the building, they are in violation. Let the cops handle it with a warning and then a ticket. Dude should have some respect and doesn't so my sympathies would be gone.

It's seldom rap. Usually shitty pop music. Sometimes it's not loud enough for us to hear what song it is so all we hear is constant bass. Which is just as bad.

Are you within the city limits. There would have to be some type of noise ordinance. It amazes me how inconsiderate some people can be.
