I didn't originally bump it. I just find it fascinating that people remember threads on this site that were started years ago.

What is accomplished by removing pictures and keeping links?
Genuinely curious? I always assumed it was older threads that had the pics removed.

Pictures slow down the site. Pics take up more of some kind of data measure like memory or space.
