Sometimes I forget that when repairmen come to my house they see my liberal bumper sticker

Today, the air conditioner guy struck up a conversation about the elections last night and we ended up in a nice dialogue about how he is a lifelong Republican but that Trump is pushing him more Democrat. And he even voted for Hillary! I go into every conversation about politics with white men in Louisiana as if they are Confederate flag wielding, patriarchal, closet racists and am always wary to see where it leads, but today I could actually breathe a momentary sigh of relief.
Maybe more people will wake up to the hate and craziness happening and something good will come out of this Trump debacle after all... And we have air again on the day the cold front came in, but I'll take it!
P.S. White men still aren't safe for many people, generally speaking. I was just happy to see a glimmer of hope.
