For me it's sitting on the beach for any longer than 30 minutes. I have to be doing something on the beach. I can't just lounge there for hours on end
lots of good ones, but this right here. my family has stopped asking for beach trips. not that i wouldn't go or would have a bad attitude. after sitting out there and having the wind blow in our face for a while, i would just go for a walk or find something to do.
as others have said,
parades
golf
concerts
even live sporting events aren't what i fondly remember them to be. my kids love going to NBA, CBB, and CFB games and have way more opportunities than i did in West Texas and would have loved to do that at their age but i don't have the heart for it. traffic and crowds. i'd rather watch it on my deck with a beer 9/10 times.
i don't dislike hunting and fishing, but after my late 30s, getting up early doesn't come as easily as it used to. i'll go but i'm not getting up before 6 AM to do it.

The type of hunting I grew up on (deer, rifle) just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Same for typical southeastern bass fishing.
I love hunting, but I dont really care if I shoot something. Theres over 20 million acres of public land in our backyard here.
Its all free range. You can hike up a mountain with a gun and call it hunting.
I love to fish, but I dont like to clean so most of it is returned.

Or, when they're older, a chance to show them how to grill, to bond. Amd a way to enjoy the great weather
this weekend my 14 year old did a campout with some of his friends. he's always cooking or helping me grill.
he told the guys that he would handle the burgers and did such.
when i picked him up his friend told us it was some of the best burgers they've ever had. i'm sure the memory with friends adds to that, but it's a proud moment.
but i love cooking, smoking, and grilling.

I do like grilling/smoking
But I'd be lying if I said a considerable portion of it isn't getting to spend an hour outside drinking a beer by myself or lightly supervising one of our boys while my wife handles the rest of the evening chaos

love the idea of harvesting deer off land that has been in our family since before the war of northern aggression.
Hell yea I love exploring historic soil. Got any coordinates?

I see a lot of people putting golf on here. When I was younger I loved playing golf. I put a decent amount of effort into getting to a near single digit handicap back in college. It’s hard y’all and requires time and repetition. And that’s not sustainable for most people.
I played pretty consistently thru my 20s and mid 30s. I’d say I got to a point where I was good enough that I could play well enough to enjoy myself no matter how long it had been in between. I’m not talking winning anything, but socially.
Since Covid, I just find that I have no free time anymore. Kids and work take up a ton of time, and I bought a fishing kayak and I just really enjoy being on the water. So if I’ve got spare time that’s probably what I’m doing. Plus, I don’t have anyone to play with. There was a time when I really enjoyed getting paired up with people. Not so much anymore. And it’s gotten to where every course on the north shore is a 6 hr round. That’s no fun for anyone.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy playing. I do. And anytime I go out I have a great time. But I just don’t look at it anymore as a must do. I’ve wondered if I was able to find a group of regulars if that would change my mind.

It is with a brand new vehicle. Then you start to see rock chips and it becomes a pissed off Sunday.

Florida in the summer. My brother moved south of Jacksonville a few years back. We're moving our annual visits to the Fall, June-August is too dang brutal.
Other than canoeing the springs, any other outdoor activity is a short trip to a heat stroke.

Traveling. Air travel has become a miserable experience, and after a day or 2 at our destination, I’m ready to go home. There’s nothing relaxing about trips.

I own hunting land and don’t hunt, no interest in it, that’s for the kids, I have however developed a passion for habitat management, frickin love it. It’s gonna take years to get the property the way I want it, but loving the process.

the beach
all that freaking sand is annoying to me. Gets on everything, follows you back to your room.
