2020 was pretty solid for me. My 5th child was born. Got to spend more time with my kids. Saved a ton on gas/restaurants/vacations etc. Got even better looking. I mean it’s all roses over here.

Bought a house last summer. Recently moved from a field position to a corporate office for about 25% more money. I killed two of the biggest bucks of my life and filled my freezer with deer, wild pork, fish, and homegrown veggies. Drastically cut back on my drinking. Started running at least a mile every morning. Saved about twice as much as normal due to not going to stores and bars as much. Not a horrible year. There was a lot of insecurity and restlessness but it's starting to go away. I'm really fortunate.

Got repairs made to house and a kitchen remodel. We cleaned out 30 years of crap from the house. I enjoyed having a year off from tailgating because it involves a lot of prep work, cooking, over eating and drinking.

I’m an extreme creation of habit, but when my bar (and job) went to shite during all this I threw my hands up and said frick it, I’m moving. Left NYC after nearly twenty years and headed for some peace and quiet in NH. Best decision I’ve ever made. And now that it’s getting warmer up here, I love it even more. Would never have done this had Covid not happened.

Earned more than any other time in my life and got a promotion. Unfortunately some colleagues got laid off and my company is now frantically trying to hire some back.

I got a 15% pay increase and lost 50 pounds. Wasn't a bad year all in all.

Got debt free!

Except for the mortgage, a couple of car notes, some student loans, a MasterCard and the Visa cards.

Was told I had cancer....

Was told I didn't have cancer...

Total mind job... While I'm grateful I don't have it, I thought I did for a couple months. Really puts things in your life in the proper perspective.

Had three grandchildren born. Haven’t met any of them, though we’re meeting the one week old (BR) tomorrow night, and the four month old (Seattle) in about six weeks. The 10 month old is in England.

Bought the lot(s) we are going to build our last house on in Old Metairie.

Got married, then promoted, raise broke 130k, won my Fantasy football league, moved to a new place cutting my future commute by 20 mins, approved to work from home until August 21, have a newborn first born daughter.

All in all COVID was a great f****** year.

After thinking my son would never settle down, I was blessed with my second grandchild (both boys 17 months apart) who will have his 1st birthday nest month. The family name lives on.
