She's better looking than Madonna or Lady Gaga

She writes catchy songs that appeal to a demographic larger than gay men, so she has double/triple the audience.

I was told a few weeks ago(in a thread discussing her ridiculous ticket prices,) that she has a multi-generational audience
Why is that funny? Her first album was released in 2006. That's an almost 20-year career of hit records.

I get not thinking she’s a bombshell, but do you really look at Taylor Swift and think she’s unattractive? I just can’t understand that mindset.
The infatuation is with her character and personality. She sings pop songs and is basically a thriving reality TV star. She exudes the celebrity lifestyle but maintains a down-to-earth persona.
I think an economic element to consider is that she started very young, which has given her more time in the youth’s spotlight. She wouldn’t be as popular at 43, but she’s only 33 with almost 20 years of building her fanbase.

Talented, funny, and cool person to be around. What is so hard for you old, perverts to understand?

Her net worth is definitely more than every poster on this board and their families combined. Her current (or most recent, I can’t keep up) tour alone was over a BILLION in revenue. She’s awkward and a PITA but she’s fricking loaded as loaded can be.

She’s a very successful singer/songwriter who managed to not only corner the market on teen girls 15 years ago, but did the near-impossible task of keep those fans as they aged while continuously cycling in more young fans. As a result, she’s one of the best-selling popular music artists of all time, routinely selling out NFL stadiums multiple nights/week in the same city while on tour.
As for looks, she’s nothing special. She’s a tall, lanky, mousy looking woman, but years of fame and professional makeup have helped her look pretty good. She’s no prime Marissa Miller, but she isn’t lizzo either. She’s just an attractive 30-something pop star with hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank. I think we can all agree, she’s a catch even if she’s no OT 8+

This comment I read a while back

quote:
I haven't been able to stand that overrated woman-child since the early 2010s. Basically, the minute she stopped being a Country singer, she outed herself as being a *supremely* unlikeable narcissistic airhead.
One song, she's wallowing in Junior High level relationship drama. The next, she's wailing and carrying on because some "Chad" player used her as a human flesh-light. The next after that, she's singing about how great it is hooking up with random Chad players at the club. The next after that, she's singing about how great and special it is that Chad uses her as a booty call every now and then.
And when that got stale, she moved on to "empowerment" porn against her "haters." Then it was, cringey, pissy girl fight drama, and then vapid political virtue signaling. And on, and on, and on, and on... so it goes.
You can argue she's just pandering to her audience, I suppose. But I don't think that makes it better. That actually makes it worse.
She's become like a walking, talking, parody personification of absolutely everything wrong with Upper Middle Class Millennial American White Women... Almost their "id," even. All she's missing is the overt "50 Shades" kink.

Oh and Travis Kelce is.

Or maybe it’s the few hundred million dollars blinding me

I’m calling in sick the day her nudes get leaked. Kelce seems like the guy to do it too.

I have to imagine there is a large overlap in the white males in this thread feigning ignorance as to why they can't imagine Taylor Swift being popular who were also posting last week that they'd live a modest life and work a part time job as an employee if they won $660M in a lotto.

Eh. Not really, and I like Lady Gaga.

I mean, I'm guessing it's probably 10 times that of everybody posting in this thread combined.
Still, nobody's really answering his question, other than, she's popular because she's popular.

Ok. I said she was prettier than Gaga.
And Gaga's problem was she limited her audience too much. She could have been a TSwizzle, too.

Not really, and I like Lady Gaga.

I think the question is why
She is a pretty girl that is not some gorgeous crazy overly sexed knockout, and that is appealing to teens and young women.
She has been on the scene for a very long time, and initially made teeny country and has grown up. Her sound has adapted to the times and she consistently makes hit songs, and seems to have a good pulse on what works in pop music at a given time.
I don't really listen to her music or anything but it pops on from time to time, and I heard she has worked with Jack Antonoff on her last album or two and that is pretty apparent from the sound.
This is the most I hope to ever wax philosophical on Taylor Swift ever again, and I am embarrassed that I seem to know more about this topic than I thought I did. Highly, highly embarrassed.

She is the most famous pop star on earth and the old jewish men who write her songs are set to make a billion dollars (not an exaggeration) from her current tour.
I hope that helps.
