Someone explain why people clean before the cleaning lady comes.

Scruffy's GF spent a couple hours cleaning her house prior to the cleaning lady coming.

Had an ex-wife that did this. Well, actually, she would expect me to do this every other Sunday afternoon "because the maid is coming tomorrow." This happened for about 4 months until it finally broke the camel's back and we split.

we dont clean the house before they come but we "tidy up"
that basically amounts to putting the kids' toys where they go
making sure all the dishes are in the sink
Trying to get shite off the floor because I dont want to not be able to find something because our idiot cleaning ladies put my shoes in the kids' closet
ETA: basically I just dont trust them to do anything that includes putting something in its proper place. they're cleaning ladies, I assume their skill set is limited other than change sheets, make beds, clean floors, counters, bathrooms, etc...

We usually just pick shite up off the floor and counters....our cleaning lady doesn't really know where our shite goes outside of dishes.
I'm not sure I want her digging in cabinets anway...I mean I trust her but I don't want to test it too much.

Depends on what you mean. If you sweep and mop before they come, that's stupid. But we pick up our crap and make sure dishes are all put away and stuff. Otherwise they will pick your shite up for you where you can't find it, then half arse clean since they are now running behind after having to pick up after you.

You aren't paying someone to clean your house to specifications you are paying for ,"x hours of cleaning service. They have other houses to go to after yours.
If you want the hard stuff cleaned while they are there you better have the easy stuff out of their way.

When I was a kid the cleaning lady took my porn stash from under the bed and organized it all nice and pretty on my desk. Got grounded for a bit.

This. If you don't do that, you spend the next couple of days trying to find where the cleaning lady put half your shite.
