There's probably a fair bit of overlap between the group of people that have spent $50-100k going to Disney repeatedly and the group that begs for college scholarships a few years later.

When I was a kid I hated Disney. We went I was about 8-9. I liked Universal studios and Busch Gardens in Tampa a lot more.

I wasn’t big into Disney movies or cartoons even as a kid.

There are some good events at Disney World along the way. I was a contractor for years. My daughter grew up thinking Busch Gardens was a second home. Then she had three years open access to Disney. My contractors pass granted me open access.

We burned her out over both parks. The girls will go to Universal and Busch Gardens for the roller coasters. Disney is no longer on their list.

After completing the Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney wanted me to go to Paris to straighten up their cluster there.

I was in the middle of a seven million dollar lawsuit with Disney. Told them to go to hell and won the lawsuit. I detest Disney Corporate, but think highly about the parks.

I like to watch all the confused German dudes there on holiday walking around in sandals with dark socks trying to figure out WTF is going on.

Going to an overpriced theme park containing packed crowds of human beings is hell on Earth for me. I’ll be in a cabin in the mountains out West with no one around for miles.

Used to take kids at least once a year, mickeys not so scary Halloween and maybe one other. It got worse and more expensive every year. I stayed everywhere except Wilderness Lodge.

My neighbor with 3 kids (look to be between ages 4-7) were all fired up to take them to Disney World this past spring. They had the kids all fired up also. I explained how bad Disney had become and that they would be miserable and regret spending the money to stay at one of the economy places on property. (Think he said kids had picked Art of Animation.) They ended up canceling the Disney trip and went to PCB for a week instead. Kids were upset at first but he said they probably had a better time. He had to tell them Disney was closed that week and they would have to wait another year or more before they could go. I doubt he ever takes them now. I find that hilarious.

I wouldn’t go without my kids, but I do enjoy it. I actually find it kind of relaxing. We rarely get to a park before 10am. Ride a few rides, watch the miserable adults and laugh at them, head back to the resort pool, then dinner and typically end up in Epcot having drinks until fireworks.

It’s definitely over priced. A week in Disney at a deluxe resort including park tickets, flights and a nice dinner each night can run us in the 15-20k range.

If it were the only vacation I could afford per year we definitely wouldn’t do it, but we are fortunate enough to take multiple per year.

I agree with this. We took our girls a couple times when they were kids and had a great time with them but I haven't been back since they've grown. I don't see myself ever going there myself without kids, it wouldn't really do anything for me though some probably feel different I'm sure. Each to their own

I know a dude that stayed in one of the most expensive suites in Disney.....by himself. He went alone. He drives around in a little blue car and has a My Little Pony sticker on his bumper. Weird SOB.

If you see the FBI knocking on his door at 6AM, then hauling off his electronic devices, you’ll know why.

At Disney now with my 5 year old. She liked Magic Kingdom for about 2-3 hours before she was overwhelmed by the crowds and lines.

I hate Magic Kingdom to my core. It got even worse since the last time we visited. My wife has a nostalgic thing for it. But the 5 year old doesn’t have the stamina for 12+ hours at a park and I have zero interest in anything the 5 year old doesn’t enjoy.

I would pay much more if it meant the crowds could actually be supported by the park. But I won’t come back for any price if the crowds remain like this. EPCOT likely won’t save this trip if the 5 year old can’t handle long waits and heavy crowds.
