I couldn't imagine skipping out on something your kid specifically asked you for just because it wasn't exactly what you wanted.
This is some of the dumbest shite I’ve ever read

My kids are clearly not as big of shitheads as yours are, mine still talk about the trip we took them on when they were 7 and 5 at the time. I haven't heard a peep about the week at Disney that cost me $10k in the same timeframe though.

This exists with small kids?

not one that overcrowded, overpriced and overly hot in the boiling Florida sun?
You realize there are more months in than the year than just the hot ones right?
And as plenty have said already, there is no price you can put on seeing pure joy in your child’s eyes. Is it expensive, yep. But I can afford it, so why does it matter?

With the cost of it, absolutely zero appeals to me about it anymore

I’m sure they’re brilliant like every other parent’s children.

Walt Disney World is more than a park; it's a resort. They have real golf, real dining, real spas, real entertainment, etc.

Next year will be the first time in 14 years that we don't go to Disney World or Disneyland.

My daughter wants to go for a race but they sell out so fast we will probably eye something early 2027. She does want to squeeze in a weekend with just her and I so thinking about either the Halloween party (very early in September) or the Christmas Party.

are there not better places to go to play golf that also have great restaurants?

My wife (no pics) and I went to Disneyland a month ago. It was my first time to go to anything Disney, I’m over 70, and I had a great time.

Sure. But lets play this out because there aren't many places domestically and especially in the southeast (driveable to so many ) that offer the variety of great dining that they do, combined with the golf that they do and the proximity to other VERY HIGH QUALTY courses, the shopping, no need for your own transportation, professional and semi sports, road races (marathons, half marathons), the spas in addition to the greatest theme park in the world.
I mean, I'm not trying to convince anyone but its more than a park. It's alot more and that is what answers your question.

or example, you would go to Epcot to see a fake London when for not all that much more you can go see the real thing.

I'd even go as young as 3. Younger than 3 is still fun with kids, but it is more about the parents enjoying the visit and facial expressions than it is the kids.
Also, for us, my wife has a lot of nostalgia with Disney. Her parents, who have both passed away) would do the annual RV trip and stay in Fort Wilderness; plus, she did the Disney College Program. She loves sharing the stories from her time at Disney with the kids, but can sometimes do without the thousands and thousands of questions they ask every 5 minutes
