When did their grills get so massive?

This has been a problem for a while now. And the interiors are even worse than the exteriors. It's a real shame, as the E39 was probably the best design in all of automotive history: it looked great when it came out and still looks great today.

People thought my 2009 was ugly…they still do though.

The current 5 series looks good. I'm afraid of what they will look like after BMW updates it.
But it's a disaster compared to the E39 when it comes to longevity and reliability.

I like big grills and I cannot lie.

It all started with the 2001 E65 7-Series that had the Bangle-butt. They just decided to make the front as ugly as the rears have become.

You ever see a girl that looks pretty other than when she smiles you notice she has horse teeth? That’s what I feel when I see these cars.

One of the things I like about BMWs is the trademark "kidney grill". Whether you have a car that is 40 years old or made in 2020, it still has that feature. But that required design feature can sometimes limit what you can do to create a new body style. In this instance the designers focused on the grill to create a new style...it didn't work. At least on the cars.

Yeah, it's probably the best looking of the stable. I used to have an F10 5 series and really liked it, but it was a poor choice when I moved to NOLA (for obvious reasons). I hope to buy an E39 someday, or maybe an E34.

I miss my 2004 540I a lot. I really liked the body style that year.
That being said, I will never own a BWM again.

Seems racist - like an old Japanese cartoon stereotype -

I just do not understand how reliably unreliable bmws are. I mean is there a single bmw made that is not an absolute pos after 60,000 miles?

Damn, those things are ugly. BMW peaked around 2000-2003.

The 3, 5 & 8 series don't have the huge beaver teeth.
