I’m not hating on anyone. Genuinely, I’m happy for those who saw it and had an amazing experience. And I’ve never seen it 100% so maybe that is a totally different experience. I was just relaying my experience, that’s all.

This is spot on. Have seen a few eclipses in my 50 years, but never a total. It is an absolute completely different experience. I understand the totalitarians now, I get it.
I also never really grasped the ancient civilizations that referenced an eclipse as an end of world event. Once again, I get it now. It was getting darker and darker, but once the moon covers that last piece of sun, instant night and you see a black hole where the sun once was.
