Guess they dont do the 10-mile rule there. Seems like it should be easy to avoid this...

Did it strike the sprinkler system? I remember a while back that happened in Texas IIRC and I think that’s why we started evacuating fields when there was lightning in the area at sporting events.

Anyone who bitches about lightning delays during sporting events here in The States should be shown this video. This is what can happen when you don't take this threat seriously.

I was at Clemson soccer camp one summer. Coaches saw lighting and told us to pack it up for the morning. As we walked over to our bags to take cleats off and stuff, lightning struck the goal post of the goal we were just shooting on. When I snapped out of it, I was laying on the ground, and the coaches were just screaming to run and leave your stuff. So, I just got up and booked it to the nearest building.
Just heard a crack and blacked out for a second.

My grandad saw a guy hit by a direct strike when he was in college and he always told the story that they found pieces of the guy all over that section of campus
