I remember when the manager of Fred's, Ronnie Nye, was struck by lightning on LSU's campus. He briefly survived but had a heart attack at the hospital the morning after.
This had to be 20 years ago.

My wife had an Uncle that got killed by a lightning strike surf fishing on Johnson Beach in 1997. He was a retired E8 in the US Army and was a veteran of WW2 Korea and Vietnam.
