Would the man who said he wouldn’t have invested prefer low income housing or apts there? Because that could happen. If the soccer field was there when purchasing, didn’t buyers see it? The lights suck, yeah. Seems they just went up. What lighting was there prior since the soccer field isn’t new? If I lived there I’d want to work something out to keep that land from being made another subdivision or apts. I’d rather a soccer field.

So the contractor who erected these 90 ft stadium lights and the electricians who ran power out there told him he didn't need a permit and the Dr believed it? bullshite. This is a classic better to ask for forgiveness than permission situation and he's getting called on it.

Everyone should be less concerned about the 3 people that called in the complaint about the lights and more concerned about what happened within the parish government that led to the lights being installed in the first place. It will all come out.

You'll have to ride through Oakbourne neighborhood off Hwy. 74 to see them. Can't see them any other way unless you go onto his property.

Sounds like the lights went up 2 months ago. Marked difference from just the fields/complex.

His facility was up well before the neighborhood.

Then frick them. They knew what was there when they bought their houses

Doesn't matter, people are going to complain anyway. The land at Parker Road and 929 used to have cattle on it and people who built or bought next to it, complained about the cows.

Obviously, soccer is a daytime activity, created by Europeans to waste their time, while not working. Or, maybe the Incans or Aztecs, using severed heads of their sacrifices or conquests enemies? In either event, soccer.

You have to be pretty self absorbed to put those lights up 30 feet from your neighbors, and also pretty dumb to think they wouldn’t be upset and try to fight it, unless you have it all mapped it out and know your legally untouchable. Sounds like he doesn’t. I’m sure them 90’ lights weren’t cheap either.

I’m not claiming to know much but I was under the impression he owned a bunch of land and started using part of it for these purposes before all the neighborhoods popped up..

It’s pretty clear in the article he installed the lights in February. Those neighborhoods have not popped up since February.

Nobody cares about a soccer field on your 25 acre property.

Everybody cares about sudden stadium lighting on your 25 acre property in the midst of the neighborhoods.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to put stadium lighting on a residentially zoned property

True but it doesn’t change that he’s been operating these fields for years and before the neighborhoods on his rural property…. I’d love for him to put up a 30 ft orange fence and tell them to suck it if the lights come down. This is a fight those neighbors may not enjoy over the long run.

It couldn’t have happened to a better person. Robicheaux is no saint in this situation. His moves are always based on how he can portray his image.

He has always done what he pleases then plays the innocence card. “It’s all for the kids”.

This particular situation is simple. He built without permits. He operates a business on residential zoning. Anyone else would have been immediately shut down.

As for his teams and program, it is equally as sad how he facilitates things. Another poster mentioned this, but he will go poach players yearly to come to his teams and he will replace others that have been on his teams. He is not about development and only about winning.
A local team that I know well beat the brakes off one his teams. The next day the coach was told that Dr. Robicheaux wants to talk with you. The whole team was offered to go over for free. Along with a small thank you payment to the kids.

Robicheaux is not innocent nor does he do things the right way.

Sounds like a huge dick and narcissist. I’ve known a few people like this. Not one frick given how his actions may affect other people. The kind of person you have to draw a bright red line and not an inch given or they take a mile. And they know exactly what they are doing but trot out the ignorance defense. They count on the good nature of people and wanting to avoid confrontation to do what they want.

Hope he loses.

Y'all are out of control down there in the Pelican State with this youth sports/travel ball/etc nonsense.

That being said, my outsider quick take is regardless of whether the property with the soccer complex came first, or the neighborhoods came first (sounds like it was the complex first....I don't care enough to read the article, but yes I'm chiming in anyway ) you can't put up actual stadium lights in two months ago in February. At that point the neighborhood damn sure was established.

If all of that...the fields, the complex, the lights, the parking....all of that preexisted, then I'd tell the neighbors to deal with it. Hell, one side of Kentucky's football stadium is directly next to a neighborhood....ilI literally park on a neighborhood street and cut through people's yards sometimes on GameDay. Those residents knew what they signed up for when they purchased the property.

If this guy just erected these lights in February without a permit, he is 100% a douchebag. Especially if it's for something as gay as soccer.

You first please since you made the accusations. A lot of words with no substance. It's easy to throw out hearsay and have everyone believe you.

But because I don't care and know the truth, then I will say that yes my children are at Force and no I'm not BB.

Which club are you associated with?

Trust me when I tell you, he is. He thinks rules don’t apply to him. I’ve witnessed it.
