I totally get that. You are thinking to your broself, "dude I'm just a couple more away from a nice buzz... if I quit now I've totally wasted my time and hard earned money"

Been there thousands of times.

Y'all are some sad people. I have alcoholics all in my family, started the party drinking when I was 17, and have only had a hangover once in my life.
I have drank so much that I passed feeling drunk and began to feel sober more than once.
To this day I have over $1,000 worth of alcohol in my liquor cabinet.
At times I get the desire to have a couple of drinks and do, and then might go two weeks before I touch any alcohol again.

That's exactly how I feel. You find things to do and you find that there is a lot of people who's lives don't include drinking. And the young ladies that don't drink are just as freaky.

My quota is pretty full right now, sorry.
However, a nice bottle of Johnny Walker Blue label will get you on the waiting list.

Well, thanks. I'm not a bad arse because I drink alcohol, I'm just not a dumb arse because I can exercise self control at the drop of a hat.

What's the largest amount of alcohol you have consumed in one outing? I can tell you in no uncertain terms, you can drink so much that you feel sober again.
My best friend and I did it twice in one night because we were worried the adult guy that had agreed to buy us alcohol, as well as give us a place to drink away from our parents, was going to arse rape us if we fell asleep.
So, we stayed awake all night, kept drinking, and went to work the next morning.

What do you mean, bro? Did you see where he said he has $1,000 worth of alcohol? Do you have any idea how many alcohols that is? When you are super rich you can totally get sober by drinking more. Science bro

Baton Rouge has an alcohol problem in general. Most people's activities revolve around the idea that you have to be drunk to do it.

I think that's the entire state of Louisiana.

So you're saying you drank so much, that your BAC got so high that you felt sober again? Dude, that's utter bullshite. I'm an alcoholic and have met 100's of people like me and what you're claiming is completely false. Lie to someone else.

I still enjoy a Single Malt Scotch.

I have a. Burger and a Beer when I get a craving.

I have a glass of wine or two at family gatherings.

I just haven't been drunk in over a decade.

I'm saying that a person can drink so much that they no longer feel fuzzy minded and could pass a sobriety test while they would absolutely fail a breathalyzer test.

Further more, I am not the only person I know who has done this, and I have done so more than once, and with different people being around me that could vouch for me if I gave enough of a shite to try to prove it to you.
However, your life experiences are the only way the world works so I'm just a liar.

After an office party, I woke up on the floor of some Japanese family's rec room, and they would NOT stop screaming.

Same. Issue was with prolonged drinking events. I can easily go weeks without drinking, and occasionally do. I have no real urge to drink when stressed or upset. It was a social add-on, like "oh shite this game is getting good I want to crack a beer." Of course, 95% of those times I was having 1-4 drinks and nothing bad came of it.

I've gotten to the point where I only truly get problematically drunk 2-3 times a year, and it's a predictable event, like a day to night party or a day a the lake. Hopefully cutting that down even further at this point. I don't really do anything insane when I'm like that, but it's definitely stressful on a particular relationship.

I also saw a good friend and a great person drink himself to death. His life ended at age 48.

He was the life of the party for years. But the Vodka got him and ruined him.

Finally killed him. It was horrible to watch.

Dude, I can guarantee that didn't happen. I promise you that you couldn't go drink for drink with me. As a person who has spent hundreds of times partying until after the sun came up (8am-noon), that does not happen.

OP, I have found that it helps to eat enough food to where you're very full/tired and hang out with people that get tired and ready to get home before you. Shits gonna still happen sometimes, but it'll happen with less frequency.

Also, plan shite for the next day.
