It's been a few years since I was on a 2+ week bender. Good luck, coming down isn't much fun but you can do it

When I realized the only thing that would get me through the day was knowing that there would be a drink ready for me at the bar that night. When you're out 6-7 nights a week it catches up with you. Ended up leaving my high rise downtown loft in a city to move back with my parents back in my small hometown. Had to get my shite together somehow.

It's horrible short term. Everything you've avoided hits you and you are an emotional wreck. Things get worse before they get better. But long term, it's awesome.

For me, I don't think about drinking all of the time or want to be drunk all of the time. I don't even go out with the intent to get wasted. Getting shite housed just happens without me realizing it, and then I keep having a good time until I hit a wall the next morning around 8 or 10. It's a lot easier to do here because some bars stay open 24/7.

If I plan ahead or meet a chick, that doesn't happen.

I was never a full fledged alcoholic but even as a heavy drinker in college, I hit the point where it started getting in the way of my responsibilities. I missed a lot of class, I was always hungover, and I didn't have a job at the time. All my cash went to booze and I was doing nothing. I looked into the mirror and realized I kept getting shite housed and chasing tail every-night because I was very unhappy with my life. I didn't drink for about 8 months after that. Now I'm fine. Just needed a wake up call.

Also, I always thought the binge drinking point was BS but I blacked out just about 4x a week for a long while.

Hope you're doing well
