I have spoken with him a few times over the years and he has always been nice and willing to talk for 5 or 10 min. I’ve heard he was humbled a lot by not even making the run off last election I think he thought he was going to make it in a cake walk. I would literally walk across broken glass to get him back in office. He told me nobody will hire him in the private sector until all the investigations are over. He did say he is going to run again for Mayor eventually. I know he is divorced now and living in a condo in Buckhead somewhere.
TBH, I thought he was going to win, also.

LOL. I'll have to ask my sister, a W.Midtown resident, if she feels the same way.

Hopefully sooner rather than later. But Dickens deceivers a fair chance.

Nowhere have I said people aren’t leaving Buckhead. I don’t even think about Buckhead anymore it is completely lost. There is no reason for me to ever go there as there isn’t anything in Buckhead that I don’t have within a 1 or 2 mile radius. I would actually encourage people to leave Buckhead because I don’t think the problems there will be sorted out anytime soon. Buckhead is completely different from the rest of NE Atlanta. We don’t have those problems in my area.
Also, the trend of people moving to intown Atlanta either from out of state or from the burbs is back to the way it was pre Covid. There’s tons of jobs and opportunities here and for all its faults Atlanta still has a lower cost of living than the places these people are moving from. It won’t be that way much longer though. When I started seeing Kemp signs in Virginia Highland and Poncey Highland yards I knew big changes are coming. That was literally unheard of just 2 or 3 years ago. In fact outside of Buckhead in 17 years I had never seen a single sign for any Republican in my area. Not a single one. I saw 5 just last week alone.

I had to stop and do a double take
Texted my girlfriend and was like you won’t believe this shite
I talked to a guy down the street that has a Chris Carr sign in his yard he said he has to take it up every night and put it back out in the morning because it kept getting stolen or vandalized

Thank you. Perhaps Tigerdroppings can sponsor a team.

He said crime prevention starts in the gym.
I'm a big proponent of physical fitness after 21 years in the military but this is a retarded statement and shows a total lack of accountability.
It starts in the HOME.

Real estate is hot every single place. No property stays on the market long in any county.

The mayor has said it’s a better way to spend a night compared to what some young people have gotten involved in. He said crime prevention starts in the gym.
“On the front end, it is events like this, midnight basketball, summer youth program, things like that, deter folks from getting involved in crime to begin with,” Dickens said. “That starts right here.”
Crime prevention starts with having a dad actually.

No, it starts at home.

Midnight basketball has to be a front for drug running

don’t live anywhere near Atlanta and know nothing about their new mayor, but community policing has been a failed strategy for decades. It doesn’t work. I’m not saying it’s not good for people to have some type of relationship with the police, but riding around giving out candy and doing TikTok dances does absolutely nothing.
Fully staff APD, give them the backing to do whatever needed to stop the crime, and pair them with a DA/judges that will throw everyone in jail and you’ll see Atlanta quickly clean up its act.
Guliani paired community policing with arresting for all crimes and comstat to great success in NY.
Community policing without an intensive statistics based approach is directionless. But when captains hold lieutenants feet to the fire, it works.

But wait... I thought every other major city in America was a blissful utopia except NOLA?

Donut shop was robbed at like 4AM with nobody there. It was empty.
“like 4:00 am” and they have already been at work a while.

Why save it for the night? Have the basketball going on during the day
That’s kinda tough when your target audience doesn’t even wake up until 3pm

Three of my 4 fistfights have happened playing basketball. I’m certain this will work!!
