First I've heard of this, interesting.
Just finished Steven Ambrose book, Crazy Horse and Custer. The politics discussed in the book were quite interesting. Washington DC was as much a cess pool then as it is today.
After reading more about the coup idea McClellan didn’t know which way to turn his troops to DC or Virginia. Custer was all for DC.
The politics behind Little Big Horn are eye opening. Don’t want to spoil the book, but that would make a great discussion here.

Call for a cease-fire so that all of those freed new American citizens could safely travel North to the US. It would have been the humanitarian thing to do.

Great quote from a great movie.
Seriously though, I agree that a march on DC is a wise tactic. I would supply guerrilla teams with revolvers and train them to attack the enemy camps at night around 2 A.M. Take out the sentries as quietly as possible and then go from tent to tent taking out the sleeping beauties. This would likely shock the hell out of the Union Army and demoralize their soldiers. Over time, none of their soldiers would feel safe to go to sleep.
It would send a loud and clear message that South will not accept government tyranny. We will not accept your oppression and unfair taxes on your own people. We have completely different economies and all we want is to be allowed to form a separate free nation south of the Mason Dixon Line.
We remain a divided nation to this day. One faction sees government as the solution. The other faction believes in states rights and the market economy, that winners and losers should be determined by consumers and not by government.

Convince the south that slavery is wrong and so is killing each other.

I’d pull out the essential oil for just that occasion and win the war

Split up my forces into 50 different units and begin guerilla warfare. Spread out and cause as much havoc as possible with orders to spare civilians to the fullest extent possible. Burn farms, towns, government buildings.
Id definitely have soldiers sneak into DC and light as many fires as possible.
The only way to win that war was breaking the Union’s will to fight. This should have been the first act of war after the Confederacy was invaded.
Broker a deal that ended slavery within a timeframe but preserved trade and Southern sovereignty.

While we are pushing the Feds through town on the first day, take whatever units are arriving on the battlefield and immediately dispatch them to Little Round Top on the first day.

Is this a time travel scenario? Typically in those you're allowed to bring an item, right? M-60 with infinite ammo.

The end game for Lee was to defeat the union army and dictate terms. And he was well on his way until he lost Jackson. Jackson was the soul of the CSA Army and was a great tactician, possibly one of the greatest of all times. Had Jackson had them take the high ground, they very likely decimate the Union Army and the battle is over by the end of day 2. Then there was nothing between the CSA Army and Washington but swamp. Lee would never have sacked DC, he would’ve negotiated cease fire with Lincoln.
I’m not one to romanticize slavery or defend the practice. It’s despicable. But it never ceases to amaze me how many people flat out refuse to read or discover the actual politics of 1850-1860 USA. Sherman’s March and the tyranny of Reconstruction should tell you all you need to know about the state of politics between the North and South.

Abandon Gettysburg approach and head straight for DC utilizing roughly 1/3rd of the infantry with supporting mortars.
Cannon and Infantry break off and mass at a natural choke point that the Union would use to get to DC.
Calvary hangs out and is the hammer to the cannon/infantry anvil. They join the attack from the rear flank smashing the union army. Once the chasing Union forces are either destroyed or rendered inoperable, everyone meets at DC for the shelling.
