It's not really a "rrrr southern pride" thing. But those were really nice looking, historical monuments. It's shitty to take them down purely for political points.
At the end of the day it won't matter, I'll still go to NOLA and have the same amount of fun each time regardless, but the whole handling of this leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

For the record, I do believe that the only real argument against removing the statues is the overly PC argument and I actually agree with it. Mitch is doing this to get name recognition outside of NOLA and it's so apparent that it's laughable.
He responded to an open letter in the Times Pic with a letter in the Washington Post. How fricking obvious can you be you sad-arse attention whore
But I will say this. You guys sound like a bunch of gapping vaginas. Seriously, I can hear a fricking echo. Is statues that NONE of you have a damn about a month ago. Now Mitch is raping your heritage? Give me a break.
Be truthful and stick to the original argument. Mitch is an opportunist and is wasting money and time so he can get a Washington job. At least I would respect you guys more.
