I think it's completely normal from a simplistic, emotional "I don't want adult males in the bathroom with my teen daughter" perspective, for the same reason I wouldn't want the most non-rapey men in the bathroom with her.
I think That’s a normal concern, but I also don’t think actual rapists care about the sign on the door. To the point where passing laws banning trans people in bathroom vs just enforcing laws against rape and peeping toms is an overreaction.
Now I’ll admit I get The Locker room concerns. Women don’t wanna see dicks in the Locke room and even if you’re good about keeping your eyes forward they can be hard to miss

I guess for me I can just make a distinction between a tranny just living their life, and a tranny wanting to impede into others lives via the sports argument or whatever.
As can I. Maybe you and I are talking at cross purposes. My entry into this thread was about a larger conversation and was addressed specifically to an open Tran person. I would not have done what the OP did, but I also see no reason to call him out over it either.

Why can't we still do this? The answer doesn't have to be "outlaw trannies in public". Let them live their lives, but at the same time draw a line when a line needs to be drawn.
The issue I see is that the line ought to have ben drawn a while ago. Or do you disagree and feel as though we have not yet reached a line on this issue? For me, by the time you had trans people openly saying things like this...
...the fight was over. Once you've lost the ability to actually recognize the biological truth that a trans woman Is NOT a Biological Woman, all bets are off. This is how you get to bathrooms and locker rooms and sports, etc. In an attempt tp be accepting, all of society got run over and we're now in a position of having to try and roll back this stuff, or be forced to pretend all of this is sane.
The line should have been back around 2008 on this graphic FWIW.

If you're content on continuing to pretend the post I made had anything to do with the OP in an attempt to avoid my point, so be it.

Actually schizophrenic's know that they hear and see things and often ask you if you see what they are seeing are real or not. They tend to be frightened of the world because of it.

Based on these facts why didn't you treat the tranny waiter as , well... a waiter?
I suppose you can fabricate additional facts dealing with bathrooms, but I didn't see that OP, his family OR the waiter went to the bathroom, much less both of them.
So, what was the issue?

I feel like I need to copy this as an example of why gun laws only effect law abiding citizens and not criminals the next time you get into that subject.

This is actually a fantastic idea. When my two young daughters are out with their dad this is always a weird issue? I wish all restrooms were "family" restrooms.

If Trans person is openly expecting you treat them as if they are the sex they think they are rather than the sex they were obviously born into, how is that different than being asked to pretend you also see and hear the various hallucinations seen and heard by a schizophrenic? In both cases, you are not experiencing the same thing the individual is, and would have to pretend to go along with either situation.
The argument I suppose would be that with this new way of thinking sex is no longer used to determine gender. I tell you my gender or that I'm non-binary and that's that.

No worries. This is what Petti was arguing with you about as well.
Like I said, I would not have walked out of a restaurant, but if that's what the OP wanted to do, fine by me. I only got involved in the thread because an open Trans person suggested that he sufferers from a "biological glitch." I agree with that idea, and wanted to probe it a bit.

The various sex defects are not as rare as you think. If you had a condition, would you tell everyone about it, or would you try to act normal? How would acting like something you aren't affect your mental health? If a sort of movement started, would you be more likely to come out and "me too" about it?
I would try to "act normal," but I'm not sure that really backs up the argument that waiters should act and dress in ways that conform to their biological sex. Why can't they "act normal" too? Is that not a natural urge?

In his post he used the term "biological glitch" and I told him I agreed with him and asked why the distinction with other things we recognize as biological glitches.
The term is used, which you’ve now quoted three times, was used as a light hearted attempt to describe that I’m different. No more, no less.

sorry, the tired old bathroom argument makes no sense. Pedos and rapists probably are not concerned with the sign on a door. Gay guys/women are already in the bathroom with your son/daughter. Are you worried about them raping your kid?

Nothing really changed, except language and expectations.
We have always dealt with trannies. The new push is for political clout, which seems retarded based in identity.

It may be an overreaction, but my counter would be that it is, in fact, a reaction to a push from an element of the country that is trying to normalize such things.
I think most stuff like this are solutions in search of problems. But what they really are is rebellion against a lot of institutions they have little control over. People in Oklahoma can't stop universities from teaching that men need abortion rights or media from preaching about how black trans lives are under attack or entertainment overrepresenting trans people/issues, etc. So they have their deep red legislature pass a law that is pretty futile but seems like a shot across the bow in a culture war they have limited weapons to fight.

For some reason your post made the song "lola" play in my head. The kinks were years ahead of their time.
