Nor am I, but the market is OOC. And it seems to have picked up and gained steam for only 2 years now.

well theres a reason they're for sale and not sold.... they must be waiting on the hospital to open, only thing i can think of. I can count 5 people off the top of my head who bought lots for 60-80 in LV in the past two years

and why are you worried about how much it cost to live here? no one is beggin you to move here. I live here and love it. I've never been a victim of crime in the 6 years I've been back, nor have any of my friends. I know a friend of a friend who has his boat stolen, but I also know many people outside of NOLA who thats happened to. Why do you care so much about posting what properties cost?

Easy there. I just bought a property in the city. Looking forward to move down. I just think that it is crazy that this is what 500k gets you right now.

Here is the link to the crime map, the system can only put a week of crime in at a time. Let me know where you think the nice areas are.

I would advise anyone in that area to start buying lots/tear downs up, I got into that in FL about 20 years ago and made a couple of mil without even trying, kick my arse every day for not overextending and buying everything that I could have

Lot in the next block down from mine was listed for 180 the month prior to Katrina.

I am pretty sure he is moving to New Orleans with his family and has had trouble finding decent housing.
Personally I wouldn't live in the Marigny/Bywater area with my family. Uptown, Bayou St John Area of Midcity, Lakeview/Lake Vista/Lakewood, and Old Metairie would be my targets.

man looking at those pics, the designer clearly wanted to make that house look as big of a haven for the "culture" douchebags as humanly possible
