Did you really think no one would've posted it in 20 minutes after the OP?

I'm planning on doing a trek called the Shikoku Henro in Japan with a buddy of mine in the next 4/5 years. It's a little under 700 miles. At the very least it will take me 49 days. I walked about 1800 miles last year and I hit a wall at around 15 miles in a day. That's 3 five miles segments with stretching and rest for 30/40 minutes etc. That's about all I can do .Most people who complete it try to hit around 19 or 20 miles per day and I cant hang. People who like walking/hiking tend to be pretty ocd about it. The hard part is getting someone to go with you who wants to do the same pace which is why it's usually a solitary endeavor.

Your map has him crossing the Mississippi on the 190 Bridge that has no shoulder.

Not to mention that’s non-stop travel and I’m sure he had to plan stops for sleeping.

Assuming he walked during daylight hours, that would be about 10 hours a day minus 2 hours a day to stop for breaks, to eat, use the bathroom, etc. So 160 hours over 20 days for a distance of 320 miles is exactly 30 minutes a mile - pretty sure anyone could crawl at a faster pace than that.

Was being facetious. Mostly on the taking 20 days and apple maps saying it should only take 4.

at how he bit into that boudin eating casing and all. Locals should have given that baw some saltines and a beer.

Somebody tackle that dumb bastard if he's on his way to Meridian through Jackson.

If he stays on Highway 80 during the day he'll probably survive.

But someone warn him not to wander north of 80 to find local color -- he'll find more color than he bargained for

I met these guys in Nevada on US-50 “the loneliest road in America” walking from the Atlantic to the Pacific across the US this summer. You can search for Matt and Trevor walk across America if you want to look them up. I also met a kid from Washington state in the hill country of Texas a couple of weeks ago who was riding his unicycle to Savannah.

There are a lot more people than you’d think out doing wild treks like this.

How much do you think he needs to do this? 3 grand per state, and a few weeks vacation would be my estimation.

Employers will allow unpaid leave, and if he rents his place out for the month on Air BnB it may even pay for his trip.

"Centerville" was just an empty canefield. Pretty accurate. Lol.
