I didn’t read all that, but a few months ago in houston I met a Jewish couple from NY and they were absolutely concerned about driving from houston to Nola. Not bc of the crime in Nola, but bc of the Klan in rural Louisiana along the way. Pretty amazing to me.

The mischaracterization of Louisianians and Southerners seems to be more of an urban thing than northern thing. Most people I know like Louisiana and are intrigued with it. They've enjoyed traveling to or through.
Ask people from the larger cities and that's where you get the bat shite crazy perception.
