So me and the wife in the French Quarters this weekend having a good time. We stop at a bar to watch a lil football and struck up a conversation. These 2 Guys are from Cleveland Ohio and they are Microsoft designers for insurance companies, whatever that means.
I asked them how they like Louisiana so far they said they love New Orleans, with the sights, food, blah, blah, blah. Went on to say how Baton Rouge is a shite Hole because there is nothing there Blah, blah, blah. Anyways they looked at me and my wife and stated this. " Look this is awesome but I want more of a creole atmosphere where they don't speak hardly any English and wrestle gators.. were can we find that??" my response was um the Middle East. Anyways goes on saying that where they are from people Really do think from around central Louisiana south are Hicks and live on DA BAYOU and anything North of that " are Normal people like us" I can not make this up

Bunch of Frcken Idiots. I don't know what to say for these Country with people like this running around

Based on your grammar I’m guessing they got the experience they were hoping for.

Two of the most popular reality shows featuring Louisianians are Swamp People and Duck Dynasty. Why wouldn't they think that unless they are familiar with the state? And for what it's worth...you will find just as many redneck/trashy people in Upstate NY as you will down here. Ignorance and trashiness is not a regional thing, only the style and dialect in which it manifests.

That’s ridiculous. The ground water here is way too high for anybody to live in a cave.

Insert "I don't believe you" gif. The only people I here talking about North Louisiana vs South Louisiana stuff are people from Louisiana. They're the only ones who even care about that argument.

My great grand father is from Pierre Part and they lived in the cliff-side caves along Bayou Grosbec.

This. People outside of Louisiana that have never traveled to the South just think all of Louisiana is a bunch of uneducated swamp dwellers wrestling gators, not just the southern part.

This is not a job title.
They may use Microsoft Office for an insurance company

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no one from north of the Mason-Dixon believes that the state of Louisiana (and the city of New Orleans in particular) is the cultural mecca of western civilization.

Many people from Northern and Western States believe that everyone from the South is uneducated, inarticulate, backward, and racist.

Well, at least you know you're dealing with idiots if they actually believe everything they see on reality tv.

I've lived outside of Louisiana nearly my entire adult life, and I don't think everyone is this stupid. Intelligent people rarely believe in such broad generalizations.

Nah I was out in Cali and told some people I was from baton rouge, they didn't know where that was, so I said an hour from New Orleans. They asked me if they were still under water.

I was like yes, 5 years later everyone is still under water.
