You can continue to bring nothing to this discussion with your inability to refute anything I've said, but to just be pissy about it. Again, which is what is actually happening, just like my post on what is and will actually happen that you can't tell me why it's wrong.

People have been screaming from the rooftops that government and dems are liking the high gas prices because it may force people to get EVs. I’m not 100% buying all that but seeing a white liberal like yourself go that direction alarmed me.

Clown World. Let’s create problems so the people will beg us to fix them by investing in the things that make us even more rich and powerful.

How expensive do you think those EVs are going to be for people to buy and maintain? Do you know the cost of replacing one of those batteries?

Blue Bell Ice cream was $9.97 last week.

$9.97!!!

Hell no. It's delicious, but not that delicious. It was $4.99 2 years ago.

Not necessarily. Sometimes prices are raised just to keep the status quo. The added increase of raw materials/labor (push for $15 minimum wage) causes overall costs to be more expensive.

All these morons pushing for higher minimum wages really thought prices wouldn't increase.

And if those same companies boast record profits, will you still kick at the bottom of the totem pole?

Yes, that the purpose of shutdowns under Ds and RINOS, so people can come back and say, “IT HAPPENED UNDER TRUMP!” Also why he was dumb to do a temporary shutdown, he should have known after that Ds we’re gonna keep it permanently

It did. Initially, no one knew just how severe the covid virus was. So out of precaution, things were shut down.
Now imagine being the person who thinks the Left didn’t do everything imaginable to keep us locked down.

But you can. Electricity you could, but I'll allow that one as that's a bit tougher.

I have 2 young kids. I can't just cut our electricity.

We live and work in the greater NO area which is very much a driving city. My wife's job requires her to drive to her patients and our kids have to get to and from school. There isn't a whole lot of cutting back that can be done here either.

The average family is having their pockets drained by the rise in price of everything and you think we have the money on hand to buy electric cars? Not to mention an electric car would just make my electric bill go up.

We do where we can but its still astronomically more expensive than it was just 5 years ago.

As long as we keep paying the high prices, it makes it hard to argue we're being wronged

I agree when it comes to wants but we have no choice but to pay for needs and there just aren't available options that compare to the prices of things pre covid.

Just to add another issue to the discussion is the cost of Home owners insurance in South Louisiana. Money is being pulled from the average family in every direction but we don't have any more money coming in.

It's hilarious that you're trying to argue that if gas prices were to rise to certain levels, that would not make people choose EVs over gas.

The lengths some of you will go to be willfully wrong just makes me laugh.

I bought a small amount of groceries Saturday at a store known for low prices. Basic shite, dog food, laundry detergent, some stuff out of the produce section to make pickles, nothing big or costly.

$117.00 and the cart was 90% empty.

Our bi-weekly grocery bill has gone from about $250 to $375 in the span of a few years for pretty much the same items.

This is also a very convenient way to excuse Trump's buffoonery. Both Presidents have a hand in the current inflation situation.

You can try to gaslight others into thinking things weren’t much much better for all of us under Trump than it is now under Biden, but I’m not buying it, and neither would the majority of the population.

Lots of Republican-led states locked down for a significant time. There were no Fed mandated lockdowns. Picking sides on the Covid issue is stupid.

Maintain? Wayyyyyyyyy cheaper than a regular gas powered vehicle.

To purchase? Just like this entire conversation and since the dawn of time, depends on supply and demand.
quote:

Do you know the cost of replacing one of those batteries?
Less than the amount you'd save over the 10-15 years that the battery might die, so there ya go. Take your savings, put it away. IF you have to replace your battery, use your savings and you're still ahead at the end of the replacement.

Spoken like one of the boomers who was so scared of dying a few years early that they f’d every other generation by going along with the shutdowns.

Y’all could have just stayed home yourselves if you wanted to cower in fear, but nope, y’all went along with a fear based policy of making everyone else stay home too and screwed your own children and grandchildren. I’ll never forget how selfishly boomers acted during COVID.

The part you quoted specifically said "bigger picture."
