eta accidentally hit enter

so in colorado, you can get absolute shite faced hammered in a bar before 10 pm, but you cannot be served alcohol after that time. what in the hell good does that do? does the COVID only come out after 10pm?

As Whodini told us, “The freaks come out at night. The freaks come out at night.”

Polis' reasoning is that inhibitions are lowered and reckless decisions are made when alcohol is consumed in bars, so social distancing breaks down.

Alcohol kills corona.

And, apparently, so does high altitude.

Same as masks upon entering a restaurant and being able to take off while seated

I’m telling y’all, this is one smart virus.

This is actually smart and I wish Louisiana would do this. What they are doing is eliminating the club scene. Most of the club scene doesn't begin until after 10PM. The local bar I hang out at has maybe 15 people in it after work. I'm out of there by 5:00 or 5:30 when I stop by. There is no reason this bar shouldn't be allowed to be open just like restaurants. If JBE closed bars down by 9:00 or so and put the same restrictions that he has on restaurants most bars could be functioning right now at least in a smaller capacity. But you know, that would require forward thinking and all......

Same situation. My local bar has about 15-20 regulars, a lot of older retired folk. They get there at 3 or so, and most are gone for 6pm. Another group of younger(40-60) go after work and except on Fridays, are gone before 8. Let them open from noon to 10pm so some people can have an income. Plus the couple of bucks from the Video Poker machines for the owner.

I think it’s more about the fact that bar scenes are usually pretty mild before 10 pm. Basically they are predicting that the clubbing crowd isn’t going to suddenly start going out at 8:00 - they’ll just stay home.

Not really...thing get's stopped by a plexiglass at CVS....hell the plexiglass has openings on all sides and gets moved out the way most of the time and the virus STILL can't get past it

Better than them being closed down all together like in a ton of states.

This is an attempt to at least try to surgically craft policy to actual areas of elevated COVID risk.

Instead we’re doing this the JBE way “wait, a bunch of kids are making each other mildly sick at college clubs? Let’s shut down Bob’s corner tavern in bumfrick LA. That’ll show those 14 guys who are there everyday”

This has become about conditioning for compliance, not virus related.

You mean a healthy, remote state is faring better against a virus that feasts on unhealthy people in close proximity?

Many States should take notice of Colorado's plan. Rather than shutting every bar down, think of alternative ways to keep them open and simply limit the late night club crowd that doesn't start partying till after 10pm.

This.

But that takes a little work and thought so I won't hold my breath.
