Yes that is the only reason for Colorado’s success.

I enjoy that any measure proposed is shredded for not instantly curing Covid and instead just reducing risk... by the same people saying let’s take reasonable measures so we can reopen.

This.
But that takes a little work and thought so I won't hold my breath.
Nor will you work and think about the solution

Many States should take notice of Colorado's plan. Rather than shutting every bar down, think of alternative ways to keep them open and simply limit the late night club crowd that doesn't start partying till after 10pm.
Colorado has to be the best state to quarantine in (that Utah, Montana, or Idaho). Restaurant scene is largely fine, and you can go out, hike, raft, and go to mountain villages where no one gives a damn.

That’s actually a good strategy. The breweries and bars that cater to normal people in Houston were fine and I highly doubt “hot spots.” Most required you to be seated to be served.
The clubs on the other hand were packed full of retards and got the rest lumped into Abbott’s orders

There has been many a night I wished the bar would’ve kick me out at 10 o’clock

Colorado has done far better w/ COVID than just about every state.
Wonder if lack of oxygen there helps

I moved here in October of 2019. If I have to deal with COVID, I'm so glad I'm dealing with it here for the reasons you mentioned.
Plus, the people and the government for the most part are pretty logical about the whole matter. My biggest complaint are some rules that restaurants will put in place that don't really make sense, but it's all rather minor.

Depends where you are. i.e. in Telluride, the dispensaries keep fairly tight retail hours-- 10-6, IIRC

quote:My son (a Jr at Bama) just got back from a 3 week long road trip with 4 of his pledge brother's. They were in Colorado/Montana/Idaho/Wyoming for 23 days. Mostly camped in tents and stay on the rivers fly fishing & rafting. 5 nights at an AB&B in Jackson Hole. The weather was great, 30's at night & 70-80's in the day - had the time of their lives and they swear they'll make that trip every summer. Off the grid entirely for a lot of the time and loved it.

Genuinely the nicest area in the country.

Hopefully this doesn't become more common. That's usually the time for my group to start going out. Don't feel like having my last year of school ruined because of a virus that is not affecting those that do frequent the college bars that I go to.
And for those of you that say "but you might spread it to an older or immuno-compromised person!" then that's tough shite. I stay away from them.
The bottom line is if you don't interact with an at-risk individual on a regular basis then you should have no restrictions on your life so therefore the bars should be open 100%. If you interact with an at-risk person on a regular basis then simply don't go to a bar.

You can buy booze 24/7 if you know the right people.

What part of Colorado are you in? I unfortunately am stuck in Cap Hill. I wonder when Polis is going to address the small army of protestors setting up tents slowly starting to surround his mansion. Those frickers have woke me up almost every night.

Research has shown that people are less likely to make out and hug after 10pm (MT). Additionally, AI analysis software has shown that more hand-to-face contact after this time...an uptick of 67%, to be specific.

Instead we’re doing this the JBE way “wait, a bunch of kids are making each other mildly sick at college clubs? Let’s shut down Bob’s corner tavern in bumfrick LA. That’ll show those 14 guys who are there everyday”
Exactly. However, we still seem to get so many people complaining about "why this and not this" when the regulations do actually have a lot of logic.
NY recently enacted an ordinance that bars could only serve drinks to customers who were eating. People ridiculed the plan and acted as though bars now serving $1 fries or hot dogs was foiling the ordinance.
But, you know what: everyone is now sitting at a table with spacing to "fake" eat $1 fries instead of socializing in large groups which was the exact design of the plan.

In Miami restaurants had to stop serving at 10:00

you can get absolute shite faced hammered in a bar before 10 pm, but you cannot be served alcohol after that time. what in the hell good does that do? does the COVID only come out after 10pm?
Hmm... What could we do that practically guarantees we have late night house parties...I wonder...

Yes. And yes, the cOviD goes to bed early.
