Mobile traffic sucks 7 days a week. It's not like the city budget pays for that anyway. It's not stealing funds from schools who "don't have AC"

They should put that bridge in St Francisville where they know a thing or two about useless, misplaced water crossing devices.

I just got back from that place and there is ZERO traffic

What a newb. All it takes is one arse hole from FL or some other place where people drive like mo-rons to get in a bender and that tunnel is on lockdown for hours.

Is that a Calatrava designed bridge? If so it will be over budget and un-buildable. So they'll have to hire another Engineer to make it work after paying Calatrava several million for the design

I've been through Mobile several times, including at rush hour on a weekday, and I've never gotten stuck in traffic. Heavy traffic, yes, but never slower than 50 mph. I think some of you exaggerate how bad it is.

Look, I get it.. the tunnel gets backed up here and there if there is a wreck but good god.. every city has some sort of traffic rush hour. It's not that fricking bad.

kind of agree here. Its like some people have never driven through a tunnel before in there lives.

OH MY GOD!!!!!! ITS A TUNNEL!!!!!!!!

let me slow down... I'M SO NERVOUS!!!!!!

I guess its that curve that they have to take at the last minute heading into it going eastbound that makes them slow down and start repeatedly tapping the breaks. This is the side that usually backs up the most.

I always try and go through the Bankhead instead.

aint got time for that shite.

Tell it to the federals. Were else do you think the money is coming from?

Mobile already fricked up building that ugly arse cruise ship building where they dont even ave cruise line an now this?

it is a museum and yeah, it sucks. The city actually paid for that. They won't have to pay for the bridge.

plus, this isn't happening any time soon.

It'll be really interesting to see how they get this done while keeping an active flow of traffic on I-10.

there is even a way you can go through the old Bankhead Tunnel and make it back to I-10.

after you drive through it, go about 3 blocks west and turn left on S. Claiborne. There are signs that point you were to go from there.

Really isn't all that hard. I'm not sure a lot of people know about it though. I mean there is never a lot of traffic on that street unless its Mardi Gras or something.
